With the knee bent the way it is, it looks like the new Mazinger (GX-45) type of joint. I say it's the SOC Grendizer 2.0 we've all been waiting for.

To me it looks more like a SRC design than an SOC. In either case, I'm happy Grendizer is getting attention. However, I'm pretty sure it will probably be way smaller than the original GX-04.

I'm thinking that's a SOC since the ball joint looks like the smaller ones you extend instead of the fixed ones on the SRC figures which also have some kind of ribbing on it. I do hope it is a SOC but I agree that I'm afraid it will be smaller than GX-04, but what I'm really hoping for is for just a single figure release that's compatible with the old Spazers but since Bandai is a company and it's first priority is to make money I can see buying the whole Spazer and Grendizer set again.

One would think that, but if the package design is like Robot Damashii, it'll vary depending on the size of the figure and the amount of accessories they come with. It's kind of annoying.... but if they've improved on their package design they'll figure out a way to make the size standard. True, but the SRC figures have been listed as being 14cm tall for at least the first three plus the future SRC's I've seen really don't have that many accessories like the Sentai ones and if they did I'm sure Bandai would just split up the set and sell the accessory pack separate like their doing for Maz. The main goal is to keep costs down for individual releases so as not to overlap with the SOC line so I see a emphasis on pose ability over accessories.

new SRC, new SoC ?? if you look at the Red Background .. it says GX-58 .. so i take it its a SOC .. i hope this is true Hey, good eye, I totally missed that. Yeah, my money's on it being an SOC too, as the SRC lineup's pretty jampacked already with a dozen figures lined up and finished prototypes revealed, hard to imagine they'd squeeze in Grendizer in there. I would like to see the GX-58 be "beefier" than the GX-04. That was my ONLY gripe with it. The latest Maz and even the Getter Dragon have a thicker look. And yeah -- keep the height the same or bigger. But do not go smaller. Otherwise it's HLPRO part II. As for the spazers, I hope those get an upgrade also. (The purists will hate that comment.)
All in all, happy to see Grendizer get his 2nd coming.

Good! A new SOC actually worth getting! I'm not holding my breath on it being the same size or bigger than the GX-04. Bandai already shrunk the Mazinger, Getter Dragon, and Getter 1, so I can't see why the Grendizer would be any different. As it being considered the Metaltech Grendizer part 2, I have to say the there is a world of difference in craftsmanship, engineering, and quality between High Dream and Bandai. The SOC will surely be WAY better...

I'm guessing this is the next "big" SOC since Bandai releases 2-3 per year, good thing it's a ways off. Anyways someone should start a new thread for the new Grendizer.

Not to sound ... um... dismissive or suspicious, but what was the source of this, again? There's been nothing I can dig up on this outside of this single image - I would have thought that this kind of thing would have gotten a lot more attention but there's literally no mention on any of the normal sources I frequent.

Way to bring logic to the discussion lol but your right let's not get too excited. If it is true a pretty rough guesstimate of the size is to use the ball joint size in relation to the body since so far Mazinger, Energer, Getter 1, and Getter Dragon have used the same size ball joint, but that's pretty much just guessing anyways.

Which Toy World forum thread did you pick up the Grendizer picture in? Like I said! I searched the toy-world Hong Kong forums and couldn't find anything about this. I don't read Chinese but the Bandai listing didn't bring up anything.

Back to the SRC topic, here're some insights into the toys tamashii.jp/special/t_chogokin/topics/index.php?eid=000101. Decent heft and lots of diecast 2. Good detail 3. Ratchet joints 4. Elbows and knees can bend 120degrees (whoa..) 5. Shoulder joints have additional covers to hide the joints (?) 6. The abdomen can be pulled out for greater range of poseability. 7. The hoverpileder can be removed (?) it is only 13mm in size. 8. The neck can look up 60 degrees for flight mode. Looks promising. Thanks to Gasha over at PTK forums for the link and original post. This is going to turn out to be the definitive Mazinger Z figure to own! It will be perfect if they released a "later episodes" upgrade pack with the new Jet Pilder, upgraded Jet Scrander, Iron Cutters, and Drill Missile attachments.
