I gotta hand it to Bandai, this Toei version Mazinger is The SRC I would certainly add to my gear. And, if I gotta buy the accessory pack separately then that investment will be more enjoyable with this Maz figure. zozo-Magengar

I guess maybe the lab will follow through depending on how the SRC Maz sells? From Ngeekhiong I wonder if that's the actual display base? Gold

I'm all for anime accuracy and great articulation, and these figures deliver just that! Never really cared much for "firing" gimmicks or complex transformations, so this is the right line for me...

If I get this Maz, I wouldn't know whether to Play with him or just Display him, because either way he looks Dope! zozo-Magengar

SO far all the talk has been on the Maz, I want more info on the Alteisen, the third one in this series, SRC. The Alteisen, being smaller would fit in nicely with my GX-46 set.

All the talk has been about Mazinger because, once again and just like with the Soul of Chogokin line, it is the figure that will generate the interest and sales for this new line. Had Bandai picked the Alteisen as the first one to be produced, the would've risked loosing the interest of a lot of potential buyers/collectors. Bandai knows better than that. So, they threw in a CAD picture of the Alteisen in their first announcement along with the prototype Mazinger to generate interest amongst everyone - a new and more affordable line, with modern and classic desings.

Well, that's the Bandai side of it. On OUR side of it, all the discussion is about Mazinger because other than the prototype there hasn't been much mentioned about the Alteisen since it's a few months later down the line.
Personally speaking, I'm REALLY stoked about Alt - the Mazinger is cool and all, but it's the SRW angle that has me the most excited for this line. I thought I saw a display that showed him as having some effect parts, too... gotta try and find that picture.

I'd like to add that when this gets released, the first market to receive this specimen, I assume, would be the Japanese market... folks there would be more familiar with Mazinger than Alteisen, I guess because the ol' Mazinger-Z is a very long series and has been rebroadcast on tv in many countries over and over again for so many years. ;D
By now I'd expect fans of the Super Robot War videogames to start responding to this line, since Alteisen seems to be a popular robot in the "modern mecha" department.

I actually have no interest in the Mazinger figures.

My biggest concern would be Bandai making Alteisen but NOT Weissritter... I'm going to beat this dead horse into hamburger until I see a Weiss-chan prototype.

I'm betting that other SRW figures will be on the way. With Alteisen, Dygenguar, Aubenseiter, and Cybaster currently scheduled I would think that others will be coming along.

I dunno, you'd think, marketing wise, if you were going to make Weissritter you would release it along with Alteisen. They're a pair, after all. To release them so far apart from each other doesn't make any sense from a marketing and sales standpoint, which is why I'm concerned.

It is not my fault that Classic mechas, mainly Mazinger, have about 99.999999% more fans than any other SRW character, hence it is THE FIRST ONE to be released. Bandai exists only to make money, not loose it. Get over it... }D

mazingers, you always say this stuff, and your point that mazinger is popular is true, but you take it to this weird degree, almost as if.. I don't know.. like you can't believe that people might like something more than Mazinger. I mean Mazinger is fine, but you don't have to defend him against the popularity of other figures in every thread in the whole forum. You tell us every time you aren't going to buy a figure when it's not mazinger. We know this because we hear it from you over and over again. I mean, it is official "you like Mazinger". Beautiful, but posting these comments like the whole "teary eyed" thing above just because I don't agree with you.. I mean this isn't an emotional issue for me. I understand that Mazinger is a very emotional topic for you, but can you just give it a rest once in while and let people talk about other things without you proclaiming that Mazinger is the only thing that has any importance to our hobby?

Oops! Sorry dude, I was just countering your reply. I though it was just all joking and fun, but based on the butt chewing you're giving me, I was wrong. Sorry to have upsetted you. As far as my preference, Yes, Mazinger is my favorite, but I also like and probably own most of every other robot figure. Again, I was just pushing your buttons for fun. Sorry!
