If that dude calls Mazinger "Majinga Jet" one more time, I will hunt him down!!! Gosh, good video review but the Majinga Jet thing was getting on my nerves... He obviously speaks english, so why couldn't he read the name on the box and call it Mazinger Z? Geeeez!!! }/ I agree I wanted to tear his head off a few times because of that

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!! Calm down, bro! ;D Maybe he was trying to sound cool by pronouncing it in Japanese as "Majinga Zett". I'll bet he pronounces Boba Fett as "Bubba Jet", too. ;D Very nice review, though. zozo-Magengar If that dude calls Mazinger "Majinga Jet" one more time, I will hunt him down!!! Anime pronunciation is Majinga Zetto. In the song they call it "Z" or at least that's how it sounds. Nothing like "jet".
Sticking to what's on the box is always best...
But I digress, keep the reviews coming!

I liked the review. I think he made a good point about having at least one of the arm accessories included course it could have been included to begin with.

Well, in this case I nicked it from SGCollect but it's originally (as the watermark would imply) from moeyo.com

Thanks. I can barely make up the Great Mazinger's head in this tiny screen, much less the watermark. It sucks to get old...

You still goin after him? Clock him one for me. LOL ;D
------------
Does the Accessory pack come with anything to store them in or display them on? We can't just have the accessories outta the box without keeping them safely organized.

I should be getting my hands on my SRCs on Thursday, I'll let you know. However, I don't think they come with anything storagewise other than the box. }D

Hello folks.
I'm "Guiltaur", the person who was recently mentioned for those reviews. I've been a lurker here for quite some time. Oddly, I somehow found this thread while I was looking around for information on the Fewture 1901 figures.
First of all, thanks to those who watched the video and left any feedback.
Now as to the pronunciation, to clarify, I said initially majinga jet/jed/jetto(too soft on the "o" to be heard clearly on the video) because I was under the impression that that's how it was said. Part of my confusion is how various seiyuu pronounce Mazinger Z. For example, Mazinger is often pronounced "majin-ga" but the seiyuu for Jun in the Mazinkaiser OVA says "mazin-ga". Also, the "Z" is often pronounced "zed" and on occasion "zee" by Japanese speakers(seiyuu and/or singers who cover the various Mazinger theme songs". I'm Canadian and I utilize the Queen's English for the most part so I say "zed".
To further my confusion, various reviewers pronounce Mazinger Z differently. For example, Josh from CollectionDX usually says "mazing-ga zee" while Charles/OptimusPrimeSG says "mazing-ger zed".
Shortly after I posted my video review of the SRC Mazinger Z, I was corrected on the Z part by a few people, which is why I added an annotation about the zed/zetto correction in the first part of the video.
With respect to the whole Mazinger pronunciation, correct me if I'm wrong but I'm under the impression that the Mazin part is from the Japanese word "majin". It seems like the romanization of Majinga spells it out as Mazinger in English.
I was also under the impression that non-Japanese Mazinger fans preferred the Majinga pronunciation as it's the "original" pronunciation. ie. "shar" rather than "char" for Char Aznable. I'm actually more comfortable saying Mazinger Z more phonetically as in "mazin-ger zed", which is why I switch to that in my review for the Weapon Set accessory pack.
Moving on...
To themazingerz: I've never heard Mazinger Z pronounced as it's spelled by seiyuu nor in the Mazinger songs. That isn't to say it hasn't happened on rare occasions but the majority of the time, it seems like the Japanese say majin-ga zed/zetto. Also, thanks for watching and commenting at my videos. I've posted my responses to your comments on the video comment pages, by the way.
To address droutmaster's post regarding the rushed nature of the review, I do see that point. Even though YT has recently increased the time cap for non-partner videos to 15 minutes, it's still not a lot of time for an in-depth review, or at least not for me as I don't usually edit/cut up my videos(I do single continuous shot videos). I've just started to experiment with my reviews as I'm trying to find a different format that will be less dry and boring than my usual approach to reviewing figures/model kits.
To magengar: Bubba Jett? I'm not sure where you came up with that. Obviously I'd say Bobah Fetto!
To rodimus1138: Did you really want to tear off my head over my pronunciation or were you simply delving into hyperbole?

Newtype78, thank you for posting here and thanks for your review of the Mazinger Z SRC figure.
Let me give you an "A" for effort in trying to please some people by refering to Mazinger Z in you video as majinga zed. Unfortunately, the name majinga zed sounds very, VERY silly in an all english video. My advise is to stick to pronouncing the english version of the name as it is printed on the box, you know, Mazinger Z. Other than that, they were good reviews. Remember, sometimes less is more...
Thanks again for posting!

The irony is that I've experienced the opposite in the past where I was told I wasn't saying one thing or another "Japanese enough" in my reviews. With something that has such a history and special place in many Super Robot fans' hearts, I wanted to do right by Mazinger, even though I messed up in the first video by saying jet/jed.
Thanks again for watching and commenting at the videos!
My first experience with a "true" chogokin in the SRC Mazinger Z figure has made quite an impression on me. I've had slight forays into chogokin styled figures in the past(S.H. Figuarts and S.I.C. as well as Masterpiece Optimus Prime) but none of that made me feel like saying "Yes, this is what chogokin is!". I'm definitely going to acquire SRC Great Mazinger at some point in the near future. I'm also looking into other chogokin and gokin product lines. I'd like to get the Soul of Chogokin Mazinger Z figure(the GX-45 iteration) as it seems like SRC Mazinger Z's design is at least partly inspired by its SoC counterpart.
