For me shooting parts are just something else to loose. Totally agree. But I would still like to display the Mazingers without their respective control ships from time to time. Don't really care for transformation either in this line. I'll leave those features for the more expensive SOC lineup... }D

These seem like stylized versions of Great Mazinger and Mazinger. Mazinger has the classic body but the face with the "sunblock" on the nose is from the Shin Mazinger series, looks like there going for a mix and match so they can appeal to the widest audience. I do really like the Thunder Break and Rocket Punch effects and wonder if you could mod them to use on full scale SOC versions and I wonder who the sculptor is?

Im real excited about this line because it brings opportunities for releases of some robots that may not ever make it to SOC status. Now..wheres Daitarn? I kid I kid..sort of

There's only one way to find out... if the Rocketpunch effect has a male peg on both ends of it, then it should fit through the female holes on the elbow end of the Mazinger SOC's forearm and at the end of the bicep. If this works, and you're willing to go the extra mile, you can make a repro cast of the Rocketpunch effect with resin, and paint the casted part, for your SOCs. If repro casting isn't accessible to you, you could spend another $8 or $9 USD to get a second Weapons pack with the Rocketpunch features. ;D Either way or another, I just Know folks here will try it for modding their figures. LOL zozo-Magengar ...wonder if you could mod them to use on full scale SOC versions and I wonder who the sculptor is?

the best thing about this line is that not only we are gonna see some Super Robots in it but also some of the sentai as well, to bad they don't have transformation gimmick. hoping here for the Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger Daizyujin, Dragon Ceaser and King Brachio been done.

Just being honest here, but I kind of doubt we'll see a lot of Sentai only because most aren't designed to be all that dynamic looking and because of this I could see the Sentai figures not getting a lot of buyers. I could be wrong though. One interesting thing to note with this line is how much Alteisen is being spotlighted, almost as much if not more than Mazinger even though he's not available yet. Classic in the making? I wrote a little blog article on this for anyone interested. It's that first article on Banpresto. www.mechahead.blogspot.com/

Package Samples Love the packaging! Kinda remind me of the old Bandai / Popy 600 Yen Machine Robo series! I think this line is going to do very well. Budget permitting, I'm planning to only pick up figures without transforming or combining capabilities. Might pick up the Mazingers, since I don't have any gokin representatives of the classic Mazingers other than Mazinkaiser.

I think you hit on something key nikdiablo: this line allows people to pick up the figures they want at a reasonable price. Personally speaking, i only like the Maz/Getter/Gaiking/Grendizer era robots. But at around $25USD, I can pick up an SRW Super Robot Chogokin to "check it out". Whereas if it were an SOC release (Hello GX-46), I WOULD NOT drop $200USD on it.

They're chogokins, but they're not from the Soul of Chogokin line. They're going to be more like Chogokin... uh... Spirits? Diecast Robot Damashiis.

Well, "diecast" content in these figures might be minimal, like maybe limited to the torso, or lower legs, or the feet. The ads don't put much emphasis in the diecast content. But these figures look so good that I wouldn't care if they had no diecast at all...!

That's like 80% of the figure.

If this stuff is for worldwide distribution in toyrus and stuff like that for me it is ok, because i can go there and pick them up. If i have to buy them from abroad like all the others i dont really know. They look nice but is more of the same and it is one more line to keep up. Maybe bandai realized soc is reaching completion. They are getting very confusing with the shin soc already changing things. As long as they release the rest of the big guys left to do in the soc line they can do whatever they want.
