Man, if these get released at Toys-R-Us I will soOo pack much heat and raid the store! Packin HEAT in case I gotta snipe out any grease-monkey sh*tbag fleamarket Hawkers who'll go in and snatch up all the goods. ;D (We have a name for them hawkers here, I forgot what we call 'em) zozo-magengar If this stuff is for worldwide distribution in toyrus and stuff like that for me it is ok, because i can go there and pick them up. If i have to buy them from abroad like all the others i dont really know. They look nice but is more of the same and it is one more line to keep up. Maybe bandai realized soc is reaching completion. They are getting very confusing with the shin soc already changing things. As long as they release the rest of the big guys left to do in the soc line they can do whatever they want.

In that case, go with Amiami-- they have a discount on them right now if you pre-order from them. I forgot about the real msrp (Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price) of these things. I just hope that the price shown at BBTS is Not the real msrp. I still want these Maz figs anyway, I'll just have to work harder and save more Caz-ash. As for their structural composite, diecast or plastic, I'd still buy them even if they were all-plastic. Visually, there's something nostalgic about these Mazingers that remind me of the old little Banpresto plastic Mazingers (I have one)... those are the most coolĂsimo Maz toys I've ever had the chance to enjoy right now. ;D zozo-magengar

Well, "diecast" content in these figures might be minimal, like maybe limited to the torso, or lower legs, or the feet. The ads don't put much emphasis in the diecast content. But these figures look so good that I wouldn't care if they had no diecast at all...! }D People keep saying that, but we've already seen on one of the prototypes that the Mazinger has a diecast torso, waist, shoulders, and legs. That's like 80% of the figure. Man, I truly wish that was the case. However, I haven't seen or read anythimg that confirms it. Where did you see it? }D

Yeah, I think this is what started as SIDE OG for the RD's but Bandai decided to add metal and are now pitching them as little SOC's rather than a branch of Damashii's... At least they're in scale.

I wouldn't expect the metal content is high on this line.

But Mazinger never gives up. EVER! My advice is to go listen to this. When you wake from the hypnotic induced nude rampage you'll be right where you need to be.

I hear you Quin, it's as if your previous post was invisible!! Anyway, I can't help but think that Bandai is trying to crush the High Dream Metaltech line to death before it ever had the chance to gain popularity! I also wonder if the delay of the 2nd release from the Metaltech line has anything to do with them finding out about this new line. Business is business, Bandai is not giving other smaller companies any chance of taking up market shares. This repulse me a little as competition is what drives better / cheaper products. It seems that with the exception of maybe Yamato, nobody has a real chance of getting a significant market share.

High Dream better come up with some awesome products now. You know, if I had my own company like High Dream, I would start crancking out Enemy Mechas in the same scale as Bandai's Super Robot Chogokin figures. I would even make them all plastic to so I could sell them even cheaper...

That's a really good point, locidm. I'm a little worried that Bandai may be spreading itself thin by taking control of the 'affordable' figure market Revoltech had been dominating and High Dream were attempting to redefine, ultimately diverting energy it was spending on churning out SOC's. Regardless of the way Bandai's product lines develop as a result of this new figure division, I do feel badly for High Dream. They're niche market has indeed been instantly captured. I think Metaltech's best bet is to pump all of their R+D into developing figures of obscure characters Bandai is likely to overlook indefinitely - along the lines of their intended Giru Giru offering. I'd still love to buy anyone's version of Gin Gin.

High Dream can take the Fans Project's route, so instead of competing head to head with Bandai's products, they're creating products that complete / compliment's Bandai's product. Nobody gets hurt, and the fans are happy (as long as they are not sold as web exclusives). I remember several months back that some of the members were discussing the possibilities for a smaller, non combining, fully poseable version of Voltes V (it should still be able to transform tho, like The Chogokin / Bandai ST Chogokin version). Well, if this line is successful, I strongly believe that they will get what they want .
