OK, what is the deal with Unicron? I expected the Black/Green Unicron to ship out with the new Energon line, but we just got repackages movie colored Unicrons.
BBTS is now listing a limited production of only 3000 Black Unicrons. Is this all that are going to be made? US release too, or Japan only? Whats the scoop? Or does anyone know?

The black energon Unicrons were planned and were initally released but because Armada Unicron didn't sell well..
Overstock of Armada Unicrons + Cheap ass Hasbro style of thinking (and yes, Takara is taking tips from Hasbro) = Armada Unicrons in the Energon Unicron box both in JP and USA.

Bill I don't know about the exact numbers but I'm guessing we won't be seeing anymore Black versions since that would be just overkill for those tens of thousands of regulaur Unicrons on store shelves just gathering dust. But who knows? Takara and Hasbro are the masters of repaints afterall. |

So, the black version is out in the US? Are you sure? I have seen the box with the pictures of the black unicron on it, but the same old yellow toy in the box. I'd be shocked to hear that any Black Unicrons are out in the US...
Am I wrong?

Really? Are these new stock? I saw them once at a TRU back in December but that was it. Bay Area stores really suck when it comes to TFs, I still haven't even seen a MP Prime here...  |

Unless you guys are talking about a different black Unicron than I am, there are more than few places here that have them. The one I've seen is the Energon version with the green circuitry-effect type paint job and the gray. There are only two versions right? Orange and black. Or am I missing something? They've been out here in NC for at least 4 months now. I think I actually started seeing them after the great Target Unicron PurgeĀ© right after Christmas. I grabbed the orange version for cheap and was thinking about going back to exchange for the black. Strangely enough tho, I have not seen Alternators Smokescreen or Hound here and we just got the Arcee assortment about a month ago. MP Primes have not dropped in price either like in some places of the country (this is at Walmart). I heard they were down to about 24 bucks. There a few on ebay, I searched under both "Black Unicron" and "Energon Unicron". j*ryu So, the black version is out in the US? Are you sure? I comb the stores here in the Bay Area regularly, and I have never seen one in any store. Strange....

Energon Unicrons are all over the place here in Northeastern PA. Wal-Mart alone had 10 + during my stop this weekend. If anyone in close proximity needs one, I'd be happy to pick one up on my next trip.

check out target as well, i picked up the regular unicron for $20 bucks and i heard they went down to $13.99 or something like that. i'll scope out for the black ones too, maybe they're the same price.............i hope.

I bet 20 years from now Unicron will be HUGE money. Kinda like Fort Max I guess. For Max had trouble selling back in 1985 as well. Parents don't want to spend that much on a single toy I guess.

The Bay Area got hit really hard with the Armadacrons in Energon boxes...hopefully as X-Mas comes closer the warehouses will start running out of those and send the right version.
