Oh yeah, that news article... Nagai went to a conference in Barcelona (Spain) recently... he's drafting a plan for a live-action Mazinger-Z movie. He's looking over bids from Japanese/European film production studios; therefore we can at least feel safe that Mazinger-Z will NOT be desecrated by anything 'Hollywood'. Rightfully so. Here's the translation of that page, I'm on my way to work right now and I don't have time to check this translation for grammar and structure (translated with Babelfish)... In years 70 it fascinated to whole families in front of the television with its exotic adventures against doctor Infierno and his energetic shout military fists were. Four decades later indestructible Mazinger Z and its pilot Koji Kabuto return with a reedición of the exciting sleeve in Publishing Norm, and a film with real personages, who will be co-produced with Japanese and European capital. The same creator of the series, the Japanese Go Nagai confirmed yesterday that the cinematographic project is already a reality - although their details would finish taking shape at the end of this year, from the Hall the Cómic of Barcelona, where the author is causing to sensation and a tremendous commotion. It has to crazy his fans of emotion, but also displeased because it will only sign 160 autographs to those followers who have been able to win in a drawing to which they can solely accede by means of the purchase of merchandising for 10 Euros. Things of the marketing research. Although the certain thing, is that Nagai, of 67 years, has traveled to convalescent Barcelona of a delicate operation, and does not have the body for many trotes. It must dose the encounter with his faithfuls and excited fans. With aspect tired, but smiling, it revealed yesterday how Mazinger Z was developed: It was in the middle of a clogging and I thought that he would be fantastic that the car could rise and jump over the rest of vehicles. It was then when it was happened to me that robots could be piloted just as a car is conducted·. Mazinger was the first manned giant robot of the fiction. Its sweeping success in the middle world gave foot to the creation of the sort lards, carried out by mechanical personages of similar attributes, and turned to this robot in one of the great emblems of the history of the sleeve. A popularity that stays lives to day of today, judging by the fervor of following inflamed his. But which is the secret of that success? What has this fascinating robot that, still cuarentón, continues waking up passions? For its creator, the popularity of the series has to do with the spirit of inherent fight in its personages. The boy protagonist Koji Kabuto owns, in spite of his short age, a superior force to the one of the adults. This makes different. I believe that to the children it is necessary to instill to them from very small that fighting spirit, who soon will need when they grow and he is called on to them to develop in the world of the majors. Although also the opinion between the experts of the sort exists of which the success of the series is related to its erotic elements, so particular, that they did that, for example the Aphrodite robot To, fianc2ee of Mazinger, exhalara the shout chests were so that their sines were shot in the form of projectiles. This erotic component is present in all the work of Nagai, that was the first sketcher who dared to include sexual content in a sleeve for children. The author recognizes that this has to do with its childhood. It grew surrounded by men, in a family of five brothers, and the absence of women did that idealizara to feminine sex. During all these years I have tried to create to the woman of my dreams through my work, admits.

Any online translator will give you the same result. They don't correct grammar and structure, they'll just translate everything word for word as long as the words are listed in their dictionary database. I'd have to sit down and read it, then correct the grammar, structure, and punctuation so we can read it legibly. zozo-mag

I'm sure they'll find a young Japanese guy for Koji's role. The young looks and straight hair are already there, they just need to stylize it into that crazy swept-back dovetail look, like they did to the young lead actor's hair in the movie "Avenging Fist".

Hello, guys! Can you please confirm or correct this to me, regarding the actual heights of Go Nagai's Mazinger Canon? - Mazinger Z [18 meters]
- Great Mazinger [25 meters] | Prototype [20.5 meters]
- Grendizer [30 meters]
- God Mazinger [30 meters]
- Mazinkaiser [23 meters]
- Mazinkaizer SKL (?)
Thanks! Note: I learned later, thanks to my friends here, that there are also these scales below from the OVAs which I find logistic as I cannot imagine Great Mazinger taller than Mazinkaiser. There are very cool Mazinger's picture given by you, I really enjoy to see that picture. After seen that Great Mazinger I have decided to get that picture, so can you tell me what I have to do for get it?

Man, I hate those Official SRW, Banpresto, Bible, etc scales more than you hate the Official Bandai Dynamic Crusade Cards Power Levels. To me they are equally as valid - which they are not. ;D Just looking at the pictures above and then relating them to the actual animation makes my head spin in disbelief...
Oh well, that goes just as well as the Go Nagai "True" Mazinger (Shin Mazinger) being 30 meters tall.
Sorry fellows, I'm an anime purist and these scales just... *sigh* I'll leave it at that.

me too not much of a fan of official scales ..
Boss Borot Almost reaches Grendizers Chest in the Episodes of which he appeared on. "Grendizer even put his arm around Boss's Shoulders and stare at the Sunrise as i recall?" .. and if we go by official scales than Boss reaches Grendizers ankle, so Grendizer have to sit down and put his arm around Boss Borots shoulder

Exactly. That's why I despise those measurements and even more so the punks that made them "official". Makes it look like those people probably never watched any of the shows or OVAs... }\

Official super robot stats are not by necessity related to anime, manga and games! When I think of super robots (away from anime), I think of real mechas in real life. Then, you can make a machine comparison. i.e. a Fiat 500 Twinair is surly not with the same performance as a BMW M5 Sedan. So, you don't have to like the stats if you don't like 'em...but they are an interesting subject of technology-mechanism-science to me and many other fans. That's why they were created by the authors...for those who like it! As for Bandai's Dynamic Crusade "Cards"...I don't hate them. I DESPISE 'em. Not even calling it official.

The issue is that just like rhe scales, the Dynamic Crusade Carda ARE Official information. Again, that shows that none of that stuff (scales or power) was throughly researched. Anime is pretty much the REAL official info that should be used. Otherwise we end up wirh ridiculous info all the time. A Real machine (Gundam) can be almost twice as powerful as a Super Robot (Grendizer)? Hmmm... Boss Borot is as tal as Great Mazinger's groin? Nope, none of it is valid to me. ;D }D

Super Robot scales..... on one hand, I find it entertaining and it releaves my imagination from doing all the math when it comes to envisioning these robots sizes. On the other hand, it's all just a bunch of different perspectives with a variety of translations; tied at the end with the argument of "which one is the official data"... ...similar to debates on the Bible. Anyway..... for my own personal reference I just like to play around with Mazinger-Z's measurements. I use real-life objects to measure Mazinger-Z and his components. Examples: Koji would be about 5'9"... so I just narrow him to about 6ft tall, or maybe 5-n-a-half feet tall. 6ft tall is easier for me to visualize, since I'm 5'11" without shoes on. If the Hover Pilder were to exist in front of me, in reality, I'd see it as the size of a Volkswagen bug car or a Jetta, or an AMC Pacer. The Jet Scrander would probably be a Boeing 747, at the wing span of course. The Brain Condor would be a Ford Bronco, and the Kaiser Pilder would be a Hummer. But that's all just in my own imagination. If I were to take these super-robot measurements seriously, it would just distract me from enjoying their TV shows. Each robot/TV show can only represent the Time/Space "reality" in which their story is taking place. Nothing wrong with using your imagination to guess how big any of these robots are; but are they Really such-n-such size in reality? That's for the fan's mind to play with. zozo-mag

the owners of the rights to the robots are the ones who make the information official. if they said those are the heights of the robots then that is the heights of the robots and the same applies to the power of the robots shown in the cards froms bandai. you may not like the information and it may not match the cartoons but it is still the real official information. if some people think is good or not is irrelevant, bandai doesnt care for their opinion obviously, but they own the robots so they call the shots.

;D Even Marvel Heroes have their own stats. OK, anyway...since we are talking 'bout scales 'n specs, I am re-uploading both of the Super Robot Encyclopedia ver.2004 and the Super Encyclopaedia Super Robot Wars here www.mediafire.com/?rhx33mjrs7bpn68 because I believe the old DL link is not working anymore! The 2 books are in Japanese + an incomplete English translation of the Super Robot Encyclopedia. Enjoy!

lol... the Super Robot Wars encyclopedias are put together by the same folks who came up with the scales and cards to begin with! ;D
I need to rewatch them again, but I don't remember any references to robot heights mentioned in any of the animes. I do think they did mention Mazinger's horsepower in one episode early in the series, but never its height. The same goes for Great Mazinger and Grendizer.
To me there is no better official material on height and power than here:
Tell me it didn't look awesome!!!! ;D
