14cm is kinda small for something they want to charge 9800 yen. But maybe that is the price point for this Riobot brand. So far, I'm liking every aspect of this Gurren. Looking at the legs and the many sharp edges and details, just much more refine. Now the only question I have is how good are the joint. Will see once it gets release, but it is the definite version of Gurren Lagann that I will certainly make room for in my display.

Yes, we have to wait a review to know how are the joints... When seeing the picture where it bends a knee and other posing too, it looks like a very good figure and sharpness is awesome, hope it'not only for prototype model (remember revoltech figure : bad paintings). I still have the "oh boy" Konami version, I will wait for Lazengann !

Said temporary sold out. But the other retailers don't even have it for preorders. Hopefully won't have to rely on ebay.

Sold out on amiami and hobbysearch - still available at HLJ, though, so I was able to get my preorder in. The video is pretty cool. It was pretty clear with their first release, Delphine, that the guys at Sentinel are pretty hardcore into clever engineering - that was one of the things I liked the most about the Delphine so I'm glad to see that trend continue

Pretty glad I placed a order over at HLJ on Halloween because HLJ finally closed the preorders. Took them awhile, amiami and hobbysearch was like instant sell outs. So I looked into the other Riobot release and the only other thing that was available is the Delphine 2nd version from break/broken blade manga/anime. HLJ has preorder for this version again and is supposed to come out this month, I don't know if this is a 2nd or 3rd run on this but I placed the order for it just so I can see what this company (Sen-Ti-Nel) is all about. The design of the mechas in break blade along with the weaponry and shield aren't really to my kind of thing, looks a lot like Ecaflowne, which I wasn't much of a fan of. So I read the Manga, and while the story is interesting enough to keep me going, the action scenes are really confusing, especially because I couldn't tell who piloting what and what the author is trying to show me. Problem with black and white print, in black and white, the mechas all look the same. Watching the anime made the action scene much clearer. So maybe I'll get the Riobot Delphine toy by Christmas and see what this company is like.

i think TMZ was disappointed with its anime accuracy but diecast or not, id have to say that RIOBOT delivers a good version of GurrenLagann..^^ If i have the money, id like to own both Yes, it is a very nice figure but not my style, and much less my style for that price! ;D Maybe in another time when the economy was better I would have gotten it right away, but now a days I am more picky about my purchases... }D

Sorry, but I don't really like figures that stray from anime accuracy only for the sake of styling. However, I would really consider purchasing it if it was selling for around $30 (like a Revoltech or Robot Damashii).

It is pretty much sold out everywhere anyways. Good luck trying to find a place that still has pre orders. In any case, I could care less for anime accuracy. I mean if things stay accurrate to the cartoons, I wouldn't want a MP Optimus or the new GFFMC origins RX-78-2. The extra panels and the added details is much more interesting than them old rectangular blocks they use for the thighs and arms. Looking at this Gurren, the whole shin guard, instead of them boring looking round oil can things, it finally has some sharp curves. If anything, this riobot version, based on the looks alone, has killed my desire for the GIM version. Pending on how well it lives up to its hype, I may even consider it to be my definitive Gurren Lagann figure to get. Won't know until I actually have this in hand.

Good for you dude! Get two or three of them... I still don't like it, and will choose anime accuracy over meaninless "pretty" styling any day. I'll leave the prettiness for Barbie dolls... ;D My Super Robots have to look like they just jumped out of the TV as much as possible, otherwise I really don't care for them... }D

Thanks. Couldn't afford 2 or 3 of them. Wouldn't have a need of multiples. I'm not a horder nor interested in the toy selling business. You said it many times, you don't like this and I not here to convince you otherwise.

at first i was all -- must have it . then it was sticker shock . I sat on the fence on this one for awhile and then I passed on it too. I think it looks good but for its size and because that price isn't working for me. What a shame it couldn't be $30 - $40
