I'll past. Just no longer interested in Nintendo portables. They release too many versions. DS, DS lite, DSi, DSi XL, and now 3DS.

3D MarioKart and I am sold.  THough I have to say, I play more games on my iPhone/iPad than my DS, PSP, PS3, and Wii combined. |

I am looking forward to this, but I did not expect it till 2011. Awesome. I love my DS, but have been holding out to upgrade it.

I'd be surprised (and excited) if it came out so soon - I'm pretty excited about the 3Ds. Hopefully it fares better than the LAST 3D console nintendo put out (Virtual Boy, what a miserable failure you were...), but considering it's not going to be crippled with the same functional design as the VB, I don't see why it should.

I gave away both my DSes, so I'm really thinking about getting this one. The only thing that's turning me off is the $300 price tag.

It's still speculation, but it's fairly reasonable speculation. Past US MSRPs have matched the Japanese MSRP fairly closely. Apparently quite a lot of people balked at the price, even to the point that Nintendo's stock plummeted immediately following the announcement. Hopefully this wont impact the 3DS's release too much. They're obviously got a fair amount riding on this handheld.  |

If it's anything like the previous DSes, this might float around $220-250 when it comes stateside. Still, that's a lot for a handheld.
More than what I'm willing to pay for.

Man, that's a sharp drop. I'm a little confused why the $300 figure is traveling around so much when the Japanese price is ¥25000. Oh well, I haven't been following Nintendo's pricing trends across different markets.
I'm still interested in picking one up, but I might hold off a bit. The DS is still going strong, and so far the port-heavy launch games don't have me super excited. It'll be hard to resist MGS3-3D whenever that rolls around, though.
You know, I'm going to make a deal with myself. No 3DS until I clear my entire game backlog. Yeah!
~2020 rolls around, still no 3DS~

I think the 3DS is out in Japan now. Anybody planning to get it (or already have it)?
I just bought the DSXL for my daughter's birthday last January, but plan to get this for myself as more english language becomes available.

I've got a blue one pre-ordered. Even if there aren't really any games for it on release, I'm pretty fascinated by the 3D and augmented reality stuff.

I can't decide which color to get  If the blue one had a black underbody/interior (similar to the red/black combo of my DS Lite) I'd be all over it, but as it is, it's almost too vibrant - especially with that metallic outer shell. ... but black is so boring. |
