Very beauty. And so expensive but I want one. The back pack it's not exactly the cannons of the Tornado. Notice the joint improvements.

D@mn ! Now I want one. I hope the hip locking mechanism does not weaken over time like its VF-25 predecessors. Color scheme is sweet as well ! More pictures can be found here, as well as an interview with Kawamori himself (in Japanese, unfortunately): ga.sbcr.jp/manime/016754/

More pictures can be found here, as well as an interview with Kawamori himself (in Japanese, unfortunately): ga.sbcr.jp/manime/016754/Reading about the info here & the improvements are convincing me more to buy the YF-29. I have had my doubts on the previous VF-25's quality & some of the other Frontier Valk's from hearing about their problems. I am liking the design & paint job as well & I think this detailed pic of the model from www.amiami.jp/shop/?set=english&vgForm=ProductInfo&sku=TOY-RBT-1371&template=default/product/e_display.html is what's gaining my respect. The overall design for the Fighter & Battroid mode look Great, but that back part of Gerwalk doesn't do it for me. It looks too back heavy & would have been nice if it partly converted/transformed like the classic Valks. -B

Well, you could always partially transform it if you like - you certainly CAN, though they don't show it - the backpack portion can fold forward to be a gun turret and the wings can collapse into the roots. That's actually MORE than classic valks transformed as they only ever had their backpack's fold forward .

Now that I do, I am that much closer to pre-ordering one. Now just need some funds. As for the newer Valks I don't own any of the Macross Frontier stuff so really I wouldn't know the transformation of any of the Valks. But I really like their Destroid Monster, especially that special edition one, she's a Beauty! I saw the review on CDX. That DM is from Frontier Right? Or is from a video short or game? IDK, my knowledge of Macross is not up to date since Zero.....

I haven't gotten anything Macross-related in a while but may have to pick this up. I'm a sucker for forward-swept wing aesthetic... although I'm not really feeling Yamato's VF-19.

hk.myblog.yahoo.com/iam-cybergundam/article?mid=70191Some interesting things in the article which I'll sum up quickly. The wing engines (and cannons) can be rotated (like the Tornado), and also move inward for the high velocity mode. They redesigned the cockpit for two figures, new landing gears, they've redone the shield to store the knife, proper A-stance for Gerwalk and Battroid mode. Stand included. Free poster for the first run. Long story short...they're trying to fix most of the mistakes that hampered the VF-25....and it looks like they've succeeded.

Looks like the YF-29 does have Fast Packs but honestly I don't think there too impressive. Anyways I pre-ordered one just because I love the color scheme.

I just think YF29 is a very lazy design... it doesn't seem to have its own personality. And I really dislike its wing design.

See I think it makes the YF-19 design not look stupid. They finally got reverse wing right. (except in gerwalk)

I think Macross Frontier is one of the few if only Macross series where we see a definite evolution of the fighters. It starts off with the YF-24 then branches off into two directions with the VF-25 and VF-27 with what they learned from both get's developed into the prototype YF-29. Which makes you wonder if there will be a "evolution" of the VF-27 coming out.

Are you sure it doesn't? Please tell me the Fast Packs and Accessories wont be some Tamashii exclusive that cost $40 in Japan but $200 here.

Not sure, over at Macrossworld their saying it doesn't come with them while some members are saying that they were told it will. My guess is it won't and will be a Tamshii exclusive till they release a Ozma version or something.
