There's only one variant...I don't think we'll be getting more since Bandai likes to keep em canon. Attachments:

Damn the YF-29 looks so awesome. Really hoping that Bandai has at least a second production run of it, so the folks that missed out on it have a chance of getting it without having to pay the current ridiculous prices on the secondary markets (i.e., eBay)

News on CyberGundam is that Bandai plans to REISSUE the YF-29 sometime this year.
Keep an eye out on those links.

Yeah $120 for a couple pieces of plastic just isn't worth it.

Well, I was able to snag one and just got it over the weekend. Right out of the box, i was sort of disappointed at the quality of the plastic. Looks sort of like the plastics from a $12 deluxe transformer rather than a $200-300 adult collectible. Another issue I have is the head/neck area on mine is super tight. Can't pull the head out without popping it off.

The plastic is glossy and looks more expensive that that dull plastic used for Yamato's YF-19 and YF-21, although not as expensive as the VF-19s' glossy plastic. And having seen the latest Transformers Masterpiece MP-11's plastic, I think you are exaggerating. I think it's the yellow and black accents which might make it look like this to you, because the paint is not as sharp as it should be.

I just feel that Bandai could have done a little better. I have the reissue Chunky monkey Super VF-1S and it's plastics seem to be a lot more sturdier than on the YF 29. Then again, that was designed as a kids toy.
