Great review Charles. I don't understand why Bandai went cheap with the shield and opted not to go with a sliding mechanism though. Still want this piece if I can get it at a decent (close to retail) price.

The only reason I can think of is for aesthetic purpose. If they had made it a sliding mechanism, there would be the "slide line gap" when you look at the back of the shield. Perhaps the designer wanted to have a figure that looks completely flawless and accurate to the anime.
The removal and attachment of the shield does not bother me since I hardly fiddle with any figure once I put them on display. =)
It is a great figure to have. Hope you find one at a decent price. =)

I got my MB destiny earlier this week. This is one amazing looking piece. (Like most metal builds)
Some thoughts: -The added articulation works well especially the sliding panel on the torso works very smoothly. -Paint is good overall, except mine has a little bubbling near the right ab section -Those skirt pieces on the hips are annoying at first, but as long as you position them pointing forward they don't get in the way as much -The wings are wonderful and the pop out panel again works very well. - The new pointy proportions of the body looks fantastic and makes the gundam look very evil. - The engineering on the sword is also fantastic, sliding, locking mechanisms! - The long range under slung cannon is a bit fiddly, the top panel is a little hard to slide back and unlocking the gun from storage mode takes decent amount of force. - The hands are incredibly difficult to swap out. Required a lot of force. - Lovely use of metallic, flat and semi-gloss finishes - All of those swivel joints in the arm makes dynamic posing easy.

As biased as I am against the Destiny and Strike freedom...this Metal Build looks Fantastic! I just wish they had fixed that stupid Dull spot on the sword...I mean...Sword Impulse fixed it...why not the Destiny?
*still waiting for a Model kit or figure of the REAL Destiny Impulse*...

Can't wait for Metal Build Destiny to get here. I'd love a Hein Westenfluss custom variant.

I cannot believe how anyone could not like Destiny, Freedom, or Strike Freedom... Those 3 are my favorite Gundams and for me NONE come anywhere near them. I have the Seven Swords Metal build but im gonna try and sell it.. I'd rather have Destiny.

I have the Seven Swords Metal build but im gonna try and sell it.. I'd rather have Destiny. You should consider keeping the Seven Sword because it is so rare and expensive now. However if you have no love for it, it's good to sell to get the funds to buy a Destiny instead. Do PM me if you intend to let go of your Seven Sword and I will see if it's within my budget. Thank you. =)

^ yeah, second in line. In terms of suits, Destiny, Freedom, and SF are really awesome designs, but no other MS made the transition from animated cels / CGI graphics to fully poseable action figure as well as Seven Swords and the rest of the Exia line.

I have the Seven Swords Metal build but im gonna try and sell it.. I'd rather have Destiny. Why is it hard to believe? I don't like Gundam Seed and Gundam Seed Destiny period. Thus, I don't like the Gundam Suit in the series. The only suit that I somewhat like from the series is the Aile Strike. And that's only because it has the original Gundam Color scheme. I find the designs of the Seed and Seed Destiny MS to be too pointy. I much prefer blocky over pointy. To each its own. I like MS from the UC series more than stuff from the AU MS.

I dunno! but I broke down and bought Destiny and it has put me even deeper in love with the Seed world. This thing is pure perfection in hand... Kuma, did you get yours yet? You should take some of your badass photos of it! I need some cool idea's for poses! Where is my Metal Build Strike Freedom!!!!!!!!!! Cannot wait

I have the mine, this piece is the better metal build far this date, seriously above the seven swords (in my opinion).
I hope the next be the Strike Freedom, because the wings of Detiny are awesome and I imagine the Strike Freedom wings the same way.
