I was lucky to secure mine from AmiAmi. I did miss the one from Nippon-Yasan which became available at around 9:30 PM US PST. So I had to wait until midnight for AmiAmi's pre-order to become available. To make a long story short, at exactly midnight I added this bad boy to my cart and it took me 4 minutes to complete my pre-order. These were the most nerve racketing 4 minutes as the AmiAmi servers were slowed down due to the tsunami of people making pre-orders at the same time. Thankfully, I did not experience any server errors, and once I got the e-mail confirmation I got such a release. It was well worth it!  I still think that we should have a separate Metal Build thread for non-Gundams under the SOC section.  |

Yeah, got one preordered from BBTS too. Against my better judgement. At least I can cancel if the financial waters get rough. But the price is not too bad for this. I was bracing for the inevitable BBTS extreme mark up to 50-60%! Lol!

The Metal Build Freedom is getting re-issued in August: tamashii.jp/item/1667/I didn't see this coming. Maybe now I can have some hopes of getting a Seven Swords instead of paying secondary market prices |

Yeah. I did noticed amiami offering preorder for it, however it has already sold out in such a short space of time, this makes me wonder whether its a reissue or merely clearing old stock.

It seems that its only a few cases though. I've asked around in local stores back at home and it was minor paint apps most of the time. Got mine for $125 on Amazon with zero issues so I'm damn happy with that. Some QC issues were really bad though (the infamous cracked head) As for Seven swords re-issue didn't that already happen ages ago? |

Yea that infamous cracked head scared me off the initial release along with reports of poor paint apps. I ended up getting the Prism edition which was way much better QC wise. The Seven Swords was never re-issued, Bandai instead released the 00 Raiser as a web exclusive (which basically is just the same mold with new tampo markings). Really hope they do re-issue it, as its the only MB I'm missing now. |

Actually, are the QC issues on the first issue freedom gundam that widespread? I have opened and displayed mine, apart from finding the colour to be less vibrant when compared to other MBs, i did not pick up any other issues.

I believe so. Majority of the reviews that I've read did mention to some extent about the poor paint apps.
Decided to pre-order one off HLJ, fingers crossed that QC has been improved!

They're releasing Wing Zero in the 1/100 Hi-resolution line, which is basically a hybrid of the Metal Build and Gunpla lines. Would they also release a Wing Gundam so soon in the MB line? I doubt it.
I also thought I saw line-art for a 00 QanT MB somewhere as well?
