Ha! Nice pics! Cracks me up how someone at Clover actually approved the engineering atrocity of the "rib-height" shoulder joint, bahahaaha

As much as I wanted Albegas, Daioja looks pretty cool. I'll still end up buying it regardless if I know nothing about him since I'm such a SOC sleeper.

I watched that ten minutes video and just can't find it in myself to like it. Maybe because there is no English subs and I can't understand what's going on. The two villains must of done something bad to the village or town or something. But there is one thing that I am bothered by. He traps the enemy inside a invisible pyramid type box, powers ups his swords and then cuts the enemy in half. This act is usually done by villains. Maybe I've watch too much Batman. But once you disarm or disable your enemy, you don't go for the kill. Even Gundam Pilots, like Setsuna and Kira Yamato have more compassion for their enemies, disable the mobile suit, not shoot to kill. Did the bald headed fat man kill one of the pilots mom or dad or something? Is it worth my time to find out?

That just proves that you don't mess with Super Robot pilots, they'll seal your fate son :-) But honestly I can't wait for this figure although it just proves there's no rest for my wallet any time soon lol.

Not feeling this release....
Still "on the fence" I can't get over those stupid marching band pilot uniforms. The bot itself isn't bad but looks too similar to both Zambot and Daltarin
I guess I'd buy it, but it won't be a priority the way its looking CM's Jeeg & Gordian is more of a priority to me once I get some extra cash....but who know it still might grow on me.

So you dont like combattler or raideen either? they also trapped their opponent before they cut it to pieces or drilled through them.

Can't say that I am a fan of either combattler or raideen. Was trying to remember if I have any Raideen figures and I do. It was part of some trading figure gashapon type set. I have the combattler SOC, but it was purchased way after the SOC Voltes V, pretty much as a compliment to Voltes V. And also, he reminded me of Voltron 1. And yes, i haven't seen any of the Combattler V or Voltes V anime. Just like I haven't seen any of the tobikage anime. Point is, I don't have to know or like the anime to like the design of the robot.
Now with daitarn 3, zambot and daioja, these 3 just doesn't appeal to me. So the money goes to the up coming Metal Build Gundam, TFC Transformers, Megaman, SRC GaoGaigar and the various other stuff coming out.

ah, I see. I could never purchase such expensive figures without really having some prior sentimental attachment to them, I'm just too poor to just buy anything that catches my eye!!! ;D

I'm not feeling this Daioja either. I know most Super Robots very well, but Daioja is one of the few that I have little knowledge of. From what I saw in the 10 min clip, the pilots and the show seems a bit too magical for my taste, not as sci-fi (even though its make believe sci-fi) or mechanical as other super robots. I personally prefer the designs of Zambot & Daitarn over this one, even though they share similarities. While still a pretty cool robot, I think I can live without it.
I wonder what makes Daioja so popular among Japanese as a top pick for SOC release.

You guys' comments are making me hesitate about getting the Daioja. Hmmm, seems that this one I will have to play by ear...

The design and engineering of the toy are the factors that's gonna win me over eventually. I never liked the Popy DX Godsigma, the gattai seemed like a 5 year old kid's robot project... you know, fold the arms, legs and feet, stack 'em, presto But then I saw the SOC version... dayum! so beautiful... SOC FTW!

Happy to help guys (thanks to Omniclone over at the PTK forums for posting the original show link ) I ordered my God Sigma DVDs from that shop about 2 months ago, still browsing through it but the video quality is decent, the menus are generic "blue screen with white letters" menus though (was half expecting actual rips from original DVD boxsets, which would include the original menus, sadly, no). Took them a while to ship out my order. About 3 weeks to process and ship out and another 4-5 weeks transit before it arrived locally at the post office. The post origin states Jakarta. Gold

^ If Gold's dvd originates from Jakarta, I'm 95% sure that it won't have any english subtitles. I remembered Indonesian subtitled Betamax tapes, and even then I don't recall complete subbed episodes.
So GX-61 is confirmed to be Daiojya, eh? Nifty combination (on the old toy), I'm interested what Bandai has done to update the design. Seems like a painted prototype is already available.
