Just curious here... Is everyone else relatively satisfied with their blue lion? I felt like the blue lion was decent. There are "issues", but I use quotation marks here because I'm not sure if you could really qualify these as being anything remotely close to genuine defects. To put it in perspective, Bandai routinely has more genuine defect issues than anything I've seen with my lions, and I'm talking about joints that flop, armor parts that will not stay on, and combiners that do not stay together when picked up, yet I don't remember reading reviews upholding the same level of company wide hostility as what we've seen against Mattel with these lions. Maybe it just that initial batch of serious problems with the red lion causing people to be extra sensitive?

It depends on the reviewer. While some reviewers are more forgiving; others are very vocal (specially the ones who have to purchase a toy instead of getting a freebie). I do recall, Atom being very vocal with his S.H. Figurearts Wild Tiger review: www.collectiondx.com/toy_review/2011/wild_tigerSometimes I think that he has bad luck with his purchases. In all seriousness, I think that this anti-Mattel Voltron started up with the Miracle Productions Vehicle Voltron license issue. Many people in multiple forums assumed that Mattel was at fault resulting in some people starting anti-Mattel crusades. Which I find childish and ridiculous.

Maybe it just that initial batch of serious problems with the red lion causing people to be extra sensitive? I'm completely satisfied with the Blue Lion. Zero issues whatsoever. Some people just are extra sensitive because they did not get a master model builder to assemble their $55 dollar lions in the factory. }D

All my Lions have been as good as any other American toy (GI Joe, Transformers, He-Man, or MASK)
And my Apple Maps work just fine on my iPhone 5. Everyone needs to stop whining!

The problem is this is supposed to be a collectors line, yet the quality is far from collectors grade, the action features are the last thing a collector would want, and they're available only on Mattycollector.com, which not only tacks on an extra $10+ for shipping, but also makes it a total nightmare when you end up getting a lion or pilot that has problems. If you get a pilot who's missing the alternate head you have to send EVERYTHING back, and people have been told there's no guarantee that they'll be able to send you a new one. So people have kept faulty product, or product that's missing parts that they paid for out of fear that they'll only get a refund, or that their replacement will have worse issues. That's BS.
If these were mass market toys with mass market price tags and the ability to simply take problematic lions/pilots back to the store, people would be much more forgiving. But instead people are getting mass market toys for collectors grade prices, coupled with the WORST customer service I have ever seen. Matty deserves every bad thing that's said about them, if not more.

Matty may suck at customer service 100%, but with the lions it is hit and miss. Right here you have several people that have posted time and time again that the lions and figures the received were perfectly fine, as well as from some people that had problems with them. Seems not all the lions are crap then. I still say that CDX Atom is getting a "special" lion every time, straight from Mattel. ;D

The one issue where I completely agree with Springloaded is that if a mattycollector.com member gets a defective lion, they should ABSOLUTELY be able to get a replacement. There should be no "maybes" if a lion really does have a faulty mechanism or a missing part etc.

I pay money to own a Finished product, which should include the following: >the complete item in new condition fresh off the production line, appropriately packaged and sealed. >a warranty that will provide service for the item if it is damaged or missing parts (I didn't damage it, nor have I lost parts) for the lifetime of the warranty. >Phone/Email/Postal contact information for Customer Service. If I have any problems with the item I wanna communicate with a damn Actual LIVE human being at the other end located within the manufacturer's facility or corporate office, not with a phone answering system nor some phone operator on the far side of the moon down the dirt road past the third goat on the right. >Satisfaction. If I'm not completely satisfied with the item I should get my money back. That has held true back when I was a kid. But these days, companies will try to pitch you similar items and promos in order to avoid giving you a refund. They'll do anything possible to keep your money and your business... even if it means (ultimately) giving you the item or something similar for free. No na-na NO NO NO, I want Satisfaction or gimme my money back. >All of the above, GUARANTEED IN WRITING. If this Voltron doesn't come with any of the above, I'm not gonna buy it. zozo-mag

i agree, matty's big problem is the QC, its bad and is not helping out that this is a figure considered to be a collectors item and charging to much for it(specially the shipping is not helping either) and if the buyer receives a defective unit your pretty much screw on possibly not getting a replacement for it but a refund therefore messing up your collection.

You wanted the internet, you got it, but you lost the ability to talk to humans anymore. GUARANTEED? HAHAHA nothing is anymore, except that when they get your money, they keep your money.
