I'm gonna sign-up. I was hoping for an anime accurate Voltron (without the lions legs showing - removable), but it seems that they are gonna have some sort of spring loaded mechanism that will release them automatically, so, no anime accurate Voltron this time around.
At 23 inches tall, I wonder if they are going to use the same Trendmaster's giant Voltron mold? I hope not...

Yeah, I think I might sign up for this. They do look good, though it's a bummer that the figures are sold separately at that price, can't really excuse them on that. Still, it's hard to pass on a chance to own a nearly 2 foot tall Voltron.

Have you guys seen the pics of the Voltron Force combined figure mock-up? I'll just say that it doesn't do a thing for me. It looks like an action figure in the DC Comics/American animation style.

the mods can merge my thread to the one in the soc forum....since i think mines a rehash... or who's ever is dated first .... gets to keep theirs.

Why did they have to put the key mechanism? That just kills it. SMH!

I think that this giant Voltron is still pretty much considered a play thing for kids, so the spring loaded gimmick is a definite must have. Kids have to be amused somehow... This is not in the same league as the Toynami MPC in any way shape or form. No, this new Golion/Voltron is more consistant with the old Godakin toy instead - made to be played with.

I was somewhat considering this sub but then I saw this.
It's not really the kind of toy I'm looking for.
edit; Just realized this had been posted already, oops

i'm liking so far, just wish they gave it a more metalic look to it since there is no real metal on it.

I'm liking it too. Where this is an actual toy I'm sure the spring mechanism will be solid. The only time spring mechanisms tend to suck is when they get put into collector figures. And based upon the pics all over the web, all the lions are still very posable. Personally I go for the gimmicks, but granted this is a toy, it's not really a "collectable". I mean, it's made by Mattel.. woohoo!

When I first saw pics of the Blazing Sword Voltron I was really unimpressed. But looking at reviews of it changed my opinion.
I ordered it earlier today when Matty threw them up. Of course I wish it was cheaper than $30 but what can you do? I prefer a pure action figure over gimmicks so this is all the Voltron I need for now, unless Bandai does a SRC.

Dude, you will not be disappointed. I picked up mine last Friday and the figure is a blast to play with! Solid, articulated, excellent paint application (for a real ACTION figure), it is awesome. If you figure that a Marvel, DC or McFarlane action figure are selling for about $13 to $15 bucks, this true anime accurate rendition of Voltron is a bargain at $30. After I got my first one, I actually went back and ordered a second one. One for fun and one for display in it's box.
