It looks beautiful, but have the quality control issues been worked out finally? The way the combo set is packed, it appears we won't have the bent tail spike issues. However, I've read about cracking of the arm pieces (bicep area) on the forums.

AFAIK, Yamato made POM shoulder replacement parts available for order, not sure if the VF-0A w/ QD2200 Ghost package already has those POM shoulders.
I sent an email to Scott of HLJ.COM, as well an a PM for Graham of MW. Hoping to get info.

Look forward to hearing about the shoulders. If the new VF-0A already has the improved shoulders, I might more likely purchase it now rather than wait for a reissue.

Aw crud!!! Here's the reply I received from HLJ.COM... Hi,
We've just contacted Yamato directly and confirmed that 1/60 VF-0A Shin Kudo with Ghost Booster is made of the same material as the previously released 1/60 VF-0A. No POM shoulders on the new set, unfortunately. Please contact parts@hlj.com if you wish to purchase the POM shoulder replacement part.
Thanks for writing.

Joseph Tsai HobbyLink Japan (www.hlj.com) As much as I would like to buy this thing... I don't want to have to spend another couple bucks ordering POM shoulders if and when the shoulders break... dammit Yamato.. you SUCK! I don't mind paying for your asking price (however ridiculous it is most of the time...), but for that price, I would like to be assured that the shoulders have been improved on this set... at the very least!

That's odd. I thought the Shin Combo was definitely getting the POM shoulders. Even Graham from MW confirmed this!
As for the replacement shoulders, I've heard HLJ is CHARGING them at around 1,000 yen (ridiculous IMO). Graham is still looking into this issue though, since he was pretty sure Yamato are replacing them for free.

I got a reply from Graham, but I think MW is down. Been getting an error everytime I try to access the boards. Hopefully the shoulders are made of POM. I'd hate to have a $180 something toy with a plastic shoulder that will break on the first transformation attempt.

**Update** According to Graham of Macrossworld, the shoulders on the VF-0A w/ QD2200 set should be POM. Sounds good, but not quite reassuring.

I'm more inclined to believe that VF-0A Shin comes with POM shoulders, otherwise there's no point for Yamato to offer replacement shoulders if they're gonna break again.

If there's No POM for the shoulder, I guess I'll just keep waiting. Still looking for clearer confirmation either way.

Where to buy the new parts? only hlj? If i have no proble with my valk arms is better to buy the pom parts anyway? thanks As far as my reading of the issues on MW go, most of the cracked/broken shoulders are on the first VF-0A. Some immediately come with stress marks out (those white lines that appear on plastic when it's bent or about to break) of the box, and some break off at first transformation. The VF-0S had slightly different issues, like backpacks not sliding fluidly to accommodate the hands/fists in fighter mode, loose joints, and some others. Haven't come accross broken parts... yet. For the Shin VF-0A, so far it looks okay (again based on the info provided by folks who already have it). No stress marks, or broken parts as of this posting. There's one fluke though. One guy over at MW got a problematic Shin VF-0A with mis-alightned parts, and had to disassemble those parts to fix them. So far though, that's just one. I hope it stays that way. As for buying replacement parts, if you don't plan on transforming your VF-0A more than twice, I don't think you need to buy the replacement parts, although, some folks are not taking any chances, and buying them anyway from HLJ.Com. **Updated:** @lz: Here's a link to where the pictures of the broken shoulders are. www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=143&st=443Just scroll through some of the posts to get to the pictures. Sorry I couldn't post the pics here- it's me lazy day.

You're welcome, LZ, unfortunately there are more unsettling news about the VF-0A w/ QD2200 package. www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=22702&st=20Stress marks around the shoulder assembly, screws too tight, loose head assembly... ugh. I'm holding off on this one. What a dissapointment!

Seems like it won't hurt to wait a while longer. Maybe if I wait long enough a revised VF-0S will be released with the reactive armor.
