Was over at MW just a few minutes ago. Graham posted that he's sent an email to his contact at Yamato for confirmation on whether the shoulders are indeed POM on the Shin VF-0A package, or not.
Keeping my Valks crossed... XD

I just got my VF-0A Shin combo. The shoulders are definitely much tighter than my other 2 VF-0As, and they don't look like they're cracking anytime soon.

Thanks for looking into this Omni. Nostalgia, could you tell us what you think of this set? Thanks. You're welcome Nostalgia. ;D I'm hopeful that Graham is right and Yamato confirms that the Shin 0A has POM shoulders. I missed on the 0S, and hope to get this one before the 0S re-issue. Nostalgia: Dude, be careful!!! The tight shoulders were one of the causes of the stress marks! I'd recommend loosening the screws a bit. At least that's what the folks over at MW are doing. Likewise, I agree with Zeph, please give us some info on this set. Thanks in advance!

Dude, be careful!!! The tight shoulders were one of the causes of the stress marks! I'd recommend loosening the screws a bit. At least that's what the folks over at MW are doing. Thanks for the tip OE, I'll definitely do that once I get the chance. But so far I've transformed it 3 times with no signs of stress to the shoulders at all, and I'm not the gentlest guy around. Nostalgia, could you tell us what you think of this set? Thanks. @ OE & zephyranthes: Quality-wise the VF-0A combo is somewhat better; tighter joints, some of them too tight. I thought my backpack hinge was gonna break the first time I transformed it, the damned part is stiff as a board! However I managed to transform it with no stress marks. Another problem with mine is the legs; the ball joint at the hip is too loose. I never had this problem with my 0As and 0Ss. I'm guessing that if the ball joints are supposed to be padded with rubber like the VF-1, they must have missed it during assembly. However this is only a minor annoyance, nothing I can't fix. The Ghost is extremely well-built. Even though it pretty much does nothing, it does feel solid and professionally made in my hands. I particularly love it when it's fitted on the 0A, it has the look like it's going into overdrive. BTW I dropped my ghost about 4 feet onto the parquet floor, nothing broke. If you ask me I love my Shin Combo set, the fighter + ghost mode is the reason I got it in the first place, and it's gonna stay that way. Cracked shoulders don't really bother me as long as I can fix it. I'm very forgiving when it comes to Yamato... you have to be to stay sane! ;D

Ahhhh... the light at the end of the tunnel! I'm still on the fence about it, but hearing some good news helps, and I hope more good news about the Shin 0A comes pouring.
Thanks for the prompt reply Nostalgia!

Anytime. If you're as forgiving as I am, you'll love the Shin Combo. I was hesitant to get it at first like you, but I got a good deal that was hard to pass. I got it for around US$150. ;D

If I was offerred on e for $150, I'd get it in a heartbeat, but unfortunately I can't get one for that price here. So I'm still on the fence whether I should plunk down $200 for a toy that might end up with a broken arm.

Thanks for the reply Nostalgia. How'd you get one of these sets for only $150 here in the States? That's a fantastic price. I was planning to pay around $200 for one of these--therefore more cautious about getting one like OE.

I neglect to state that I got it at US$150 in Singapore (currently vacationing, prices for newer Macross stuff here is dirt cheap), however this baby is flying back with me Stateside... in the cargo hold. ;D

$150 for the Shin stateside sounded a bit too good to be true. Oh well, at least you scored.

Well, looks like MW is back up under a new server. Been reading some new updates about folks who got the Shin VF-0A, and unfortunately, there are still some news about stress marks on the shoulders out of the box, and some breakages. There's also news that the Roy Focker VF-0S re-issue also suffers the same issues. As of this posting, I haven't found a post from Graham about his confirmation on whether the shoulders on the Shin are POM or ABS, but the news about pre-stressed sections on the shoulder are pretty fricken disappointing.

Got a link on the reports regarding the VF-0S reissues? D'oh! That was my bad! I was referring to the supposed POM shoulder replacements from HLJ.COM. Some folks who received the shoulder replacements for their 0S still ended up with stress marks on the same sections that were supposed to be POM. Sorry about that folks!

No problem. Still holding off on getting a reissue VF-0S until I read reviews or reports from other buyers.

With Yamato's products, I've learned not to rush to purchase anymore. They keep reissuing improved versions and put out numerous repaints. Besides, the costs keep going up so I'd rather err on the side of caution.

Any idea of if the "Super" strike parts will fit this? I am thinking I am ready to start looking for one.
