Since someone with lots of authority in Bandai is being an A-Hole and not moving forward with releasing the SRC MAzinger Weapons Set Ver.2, I decided to make my own set. }D From: Great Mazinger <tetsuya@dynamicproduction.co.jp> To: Bandai A-Hole <a_hole@bandai.co.jp> Sent: Saturday, November 5, 2011 2:55 AM Subject: Re: Mazinger Weapon Set 2 Dear sir,

I wonder what would Koji Kabuto say in his email?

Haha... and a parachute too, right? ;D }D I haven't seen all the eps. So...you are telling me Mazinger Z used a parachute once?

Yeah, Maz was trapped waist-deep in deep snow during a snowstorm, on Mt Fuji... so, the Lab folks made him a pair of skiis to get him out of there. Koji had to use the Pilder to transport the skiis back to the location where Maz was trapped. The Parachute was used to stop him when he reached the bottom of the hill.
The shovel was just a novelty in the beginning of the episode... ...Japan was hit with a snowstorm that lasted several days. And so Mazinger was just helping to clear some snow away from the Photon Lab campus area. Boss Borot was helping him. I don't know where Maz got that shovel from, so I just guess the Lab built it for him to use just in the purpose of shoveling all that snow away.

To: TMZ, are you working on the custom parachute then? Man, I admire so much how you are creating your own Mazinger Weapon Set 2, but that's really sad and stupid from Bandai cuz not all the fans have the talent to create these stuff and it's like Bandai just DON'T FXXXXN' CARE!

I think Bandai is just making all the basic Mazinger accessories that are mostly recognizable by fans.
You see, Mazinger had many weapons... but he acquired them through upgrades and modifications much later in the series. I think the "Chain-linked" rocket fist was just Koji's own idea for defeating Deviler-X1 (episode #19). All other weapons were concepts by the Lab professors.
Also, he never used ALL of his weapons in each episode; while some of the newer weapons were used perhaps once or a couple times very late in the series.
My favorite is the Daisharin Roketto Panchi (Mega-Swing Rocket Punch) which was introduced in episode #72, immediately after the new Jet Pilder was built. It's still the same Rocket Punch weapon, but this time it has a more powerful impact because Mazinger rotates his arms at high speed to concentrate the enertia (weight, plus power) to the fists upon release...
...By this time, the mechabeasts had become very powerful... in fact, Archduke Gorgon had already stepped in to supply his own youkikaiju (early battlebeast prototypes) to help Doctor Hell defeat Mazinger.

I still think that the Iron Cutters and Drill Missiles are more popular and recognizable Mazinger Z weapons than the Reinforced Rocket Punch and Great Mazinger's sword. They should've been included with the figure from the start...

You're right, in fact, the Iron Cutters and the Drill Missiles have a greater dynamic appeal than the softball-pitch Rocket Punch. I never considered Great Mazinger's sword to be part of a Mazinger-Z accessory... that's because Grt Maz loaned one of his swords to Mazinger-Z so he could defend himself against the battlebeast (in the "MZ vs Dark General" ova; Maz only had one working arm after the other arm was nearly dissolved by an acid attack). I find it cross-eyed amusing that Bandai included the Iron Cutters (at Least) in the SOC Mazinger-Z set... but now they're weren't included into the SRC Mazinger-Z set. Even if the Iron Cutters had been included with the SRC Weapons pack, the price wouldn't have made any difference more than a couple bucks to produce the Iron Cutters from the same forearm mold (just copy the mold and sculpt the blade shapes into the copied mold). zozo-mag

Not weapons pack related, but I've been working on a redesigned custom SRC Great Mazinger head and Jet Condor and it should be ready today. If everything goes well, I'll have pictures up this evening... }D

The new head is more stylized than the old one... I've been having the hardest time painting the eyes and mouth grill, as they have very sharp lines (and almost microscopic to me). I just gave up on achieving a flawless paintjob at that scale, even with my specialized paintbrush set. It doesn't look bad, but I know that if I was 20 years younger I would have been able to do a way better job...

doesn't matter to me really, as long as it looks a 100x better than the one that the SRC brings ill be happy with it. man i hate that head, its to small in contrast to his body overall.

i love the new head, if there is one thing i could criticize is the area where you put the condor in, is not technically hollow like the original head but still this new head is far superior in proportions to the original and the previews head that you made. The Condor looks pretty nice but i think the tail is a bit to fat but still it looks really good, could you take a pic of the new head but with the src condor on it? as for the painting it looks good so far.
truly this one is way better, which head does this one is base of?

The original SRC Jet Condor is way too small, and it is really a half-Jet Condor, but here is the picture you requested... }D

what the hell is great mazinger doing.....AAGGGGGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!. seriously that pic looks like his shooting his breast burn atk XD.
anyway true its to small but damn that head looks way better. i also see that the horns are not fully in, there is a metal pin holding it i think.

Yeah, the horns need to be pushed in some more. ;D I also like the black inside the crown, but haven't figured out a good way to do it without making it look weird. I may just do the Jet Condor's docking area in black and leave the rest alone... that is, if I do anything at all. }D

LOOKS GREAT!!! I think the problem your were having with the paint is it needs to be thinned,it goes on easier and doesnt come out as thick and SMALLER brushes do wonders on hard details..Great JOB!It looks really proportionate and much more accurate!

that new head is okay, but i prefer the second one better, with the wide crown and long horns. good job anyway!
