I wated a Vehicle Voltron as a kid sooooo much as a kit. Had a little gummy one that combined and loved it... even after the arms broke. This one looks nice, I'd wish Bandai was doing it (as in "cheaper price") but they are taking forever.
Whoever does a combining one first gets my money and I can finally close my collecting days.

Funny you mention that because I've been thinking about quiting as well. I might just get rid of everything that is not Mazinger, Getter, or Voltron related too. There hasn't been anything that really interest me in a while...

I must admit, you're right... nothing interesting has been out in a while. I wouldn't stop collecting, though... at least I'd continue chasing after all the Mazinger toys since That shoulda been my main focus all along. I just can't help being distracted by other favorite robots. ;D zozo-mag

I started because I always wanted a VF-1J toy. Then I heard something about a Masterpiece Robotech VF-1 which let me to discover Yamato’s valks, then Gundam, Transformers, then SOC... mainly stuff I wanted as a kid but couldn't get or directly didn't exist.
Then the collection bug grows because, hey, I watch anime and the cartoons I watched as a kid have had spin-offs too. Hell, there is some really cool stuff out there; I don’t even have any emotional attachment to them but they are… well, “cool”.
I already have toooo much. It's starting to feel like I just horde it: Buy it, open it, see it, play a bit and to the display case and repeat.
My giant display case is full... and there is so much stuff outside it that I could half fill another one. I'm going to trim it down so I can actually enjoy it and not get “Stendhal's Syndrome” every time I look at ALL there is to see. Just too much awesomeness to take LOL.
My dream/objective is to keep whatever stuff fills my inner kid the most. A Vehicle Voltron already has a spot waiting for it.

I'm the opposite my collecting bug is still the same. I guess its because I'm just a fan of super robots in general and not trying to relive my childhood or just get modern takes on old childhood toys. For instance I never saw Godsigma as a kid but the SOC was one of my most anticipated releases of the year. This Voltron though is a triple whammy for me, I always wanted one as a kid, love the design of it, and can't wait to hold it in my hands and see how s totally modern version feels like.

Yeah, I'm feeling like I'm just hoarding too. I'm a classic Super Robot guy, Mazinger & Getter Robot, followed by Grendizer, Gaiking, Daimos, Kotetsu Jeeg, and some combiners such as Voltron (Dairugger XV is my favorite), Combattler V and Voltes V. The other figures I have, while nice and awesome, I really don't care much for. In my case, is not that I'm trying to somehow relive my childhood, is just that I don't really like the other stuff that much. When I purchased all the other figures, I did it just for curiosity really. Dancouga, Ideon, Zambot, Iron Gear, GodMars, Daitarn, GodSigma, GunBuster, GaoGaiGar, Gordian, Gurren Lagann, Godannar, etc... they are just not my thing. I even ordered the upcoming SOC Daioja, but I don't really like it. I don't know... it just doesn't feel right anymore.
I'll see what happens, but I'm starting to seriously consider selling everything that is not Mazinger, Getter Robot, Grendizer, Gaiking, Daimos, Jeeg, Dairugger, Golion, Combattler V, and Voltes V. I 'm definitely out of space and like twoducks, I hardly ever do anything with the stuff but look at it from time to time. But I may just wait until the economy recovers a little so I can get at least what I paid for for those figures... ;D

I think that's when a little self control and websites like this to get reviews come in handy. Its so easy to go on the internet and buy whatever catches your eye, its like impulse buying at the grocery store. That's why I try to limit myself to diecast figures only and try to buy only one version of each. Obviously that goes out the window for characters like Mazinger or Optimus Prime but on the whole I'm good with a single version and fortunately for the most part its been a SOC so that helps limit purchases.

I hope it does see the light of day, unlike what happened with the Max Factory Dancouga Nova. I can wait for it no problem... hell, I waited for the Fewture Shin Getter over two years, so how much longer than that could the Dairugger take??? }D
