anyone knows the difference between the recent SHF Vegeta "dragon ball z" edition offered recently for preorder (http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=FIGURE-019535&page=top%2Fsearch%2Flist%3Fs_keywords%3Dvegeta%24pagemax%3D40%24getcnt%3D0%24pagecnt%3D1) and the premium colour vegeta released several months back? are they essentially the same?

Yes, Essentially the same. This new one has one more face option and the Arms crossed accessory, allowing you to pose him with his arms crossed. Piccolo also had this accessory. The very first version of super Saiyan Vegeta, boots are different in that the tip isn't painted. The so called Premium color version painted the tip of the toes. They should of included the Majin Vegeta head but I guess they can milk the character by making it in the future. |

Do you guys not know what Super Vegeta is? This new toy is representing that, and that's why it's taller and more bulky. Amiami actually has it mislisted as Super Saiyan.

It isn't super Saiyan 2, it isn't even the flawed Super Saiyan 2 that Future Trunk used. Perfect Cell explained to Trunks that Vegeta could of achieve that form but knows that it's was slow, therefore useless in battle. When Goku fought against Perfect Cell, he was at a power even higher than this Super Vegeta form. What, so there is a Super Goku now? Ridiculous, guess they had to come up with something, cause basically they want to make a V2 Super Saiyan Vegeta using a newer body type. As to why they don't just make Super Saiyan 2 Vegeta, more opportunities in the future to release that, along with Majin Vegeta etc... |

Yup, in the anime/manga, "super" vegeta was just a misguided transformation. Vegeta and trucks thought they could over-power cell base on that transformation, only goku knows it cant.
