Sqaull, bro, at $150 shipped, this is really good deal even when compared to AmiAmi. Repair three is a pretty much a chogokin. Diecast metal in every bite. It's solid and HEAVY. $150 for extremely posable Come on, Chogokin with tons of accessories is not bad these days. Are you listening Chen?
I'll do a cheap one pic one paragraph review on Repair Three soon. Let me just say, it's a winner. Oh and I paid $180 shipped for Repair Three so....yes, argueably more "attractive(?)" Repair One IS def a bargain at $30 cheaper....

Last night, I had the gut feeling that pre-orders for this Exia Repair were going to be posted. Instead of logging last night, I decided not to just to find out this morning that AmiAmi and Nippon-Ysan are both sold out. And HLJ stop the orders. So I bit the bullet and pre-ordered it on BBTS, and if the US Dollar keeps falling against the Yen, it might be a better deal.

Good review TJ. As always, very high quality and descriptive. One little critique if I may, your review would have been greatly improved if your know more about the Gundam 00 Anime, or history background of the Exia. The Exia, Repair 3 is a MSV, Mobile Suit Variation. The R3 was use to develop into the Quanta or GNT-Qan[T]. Why is this important? There is no Model Kit from Bandai for the R3. So unless you buy this Metal Build or buy after market conversion kits, and paint it, you can't get the R3. Another note, the R3 nevered appeared in the Anime. Also, if you knew more about the anime, you can referred to the weapons correctly and know the difference between the GN drive and GN Condenser or GN Swords correctly. The GN long rifle is part of the R3 and not a weapon for the original Exia. This is not to say that one has to know all these references to like the figure but knowing a little more about the character may keep the interest of some Gundam Fans.

Cool suppergetterV, thanks for the awesome insight. I'm a total noob on Gundam and those kind of info make my appreciation for Exia even better.

I really appreciate the feedback (and, am always looking for critiques, so if you have them, I'm always welcome), and am watching through Se. 1 of 00 as we speak (so, really random coincidence that you brought it up). I completely agree with having more of a knowledge base about the show that these toys come from, but the only challenge I have to any of what you said is: Even with watching the show fully, how would that help me know that there's no model kit of RIII? Random: If this store would go ahead and ship the darned thing, I should have Metal Build 00 Seven Swords by Tuesday. It sucks, because I got the 00 raiser + GNIII Sword kit for it last week and it's just been sitting here making me more anxious everytime I look at it.

Yes, you wouldn't know even watching the entire Anime because the R3 is a MSV. It was never in the cartoon so watching the entire anime wouldn't give you any info on it. I didn't know anything about it either prior to the announcement of the Metal Build. We were given info that a MB Exia is being release and then they threw in the R3 conversion. That's when I looked into what the R3 is. Did my research and looked it up on Gundam Wiki. Looked more into it over on the Gunpla forums. That's how I found out that there isn't any model kits for the R3.
Now, I don't think it is important or necessary to look this deeply into the character/robot for anyone to enjoy the toy figure. But as a minor critique, it was something that I noticed.

Yea... I feel like my.reviews are too long as it is, so going out of my.way for things like that feels like a stretch, but I appreciate the feedback and tidbits about the toy releases for this one!

I see a lot of love went into making that review video, TJ!
Do you see any potential of the joints loosening in the future due to frequent posing?
@supergetterv: thanks on the heads-up about the R3!

Does anyone know if this repair Exia will come with an arm to replace that cape? meaning if I dont want to display it with the cape and decides to switch him back to normal. Is it still possible?

Nope, this release is for the one damage MB Exia, the R1. It will come with armor parts to convert the original MB Exia/R3 to the R2. It's Bandai way to make you buy multiples if you want MB Exia, Exia R1, Exia R2 and Exia R3.
