I don't have any but a lot of figures have had issues. Big dai X is a recent one that comes to mind. For me, I could never spend out that much for a small plastic figure (and I really like magnemo style stuff!)
I don't know if it's the magnets, the licensing costs, or both, but I have trouble understanding why these aren't $100 bucks each max. I swear that people must be going broke buying these damn things.

I swear that people must be going broke buying these damn things. I figure the high cost of each item is probably a combination of factors: presumably low production runs (relative to other manufacturers), niche within a niche within a niche products (magnemo-style figures of (mostly) obscure/vintage super robots), and just being a small company overall.

Evolution Toys line is like a hit or miss thang.. sometimes they release a good figure.. sometimes not. Their strong point is the excellent sculpt they have on some of the figures they have released.. mostly on non-combining, non transforming Go Nagai stuffs. Although lately, they slipped and released some not-so great sculpts like Gordian and Godmars. They are also good on part swapping robots like Jeeg and Gordam.. but a letdown on transforming and combining robots such as Daikengo and Big Dai-x. if u have high expectation on these types of robots.. dont bother coz they mostly involve parts swapping.. not that typical engineering u see on Bandai SOC stuff.
I recommend this only for those who are completists who have become frustrated waiting for robots series that has not been released yet coz so far Evolution Toys is the only company right now who actually knows whats missing in the market. but if youre just choosing between Bandai and Evolution Toys on a certain figure.. ull be disappointed.
In regard to magnets.. they are quite strong.

Only wait for Gakeen and small size of Jeeg/shin Jeeg parts from them. They are good for Magnet joint.

Yeah, and they listed die-cast on the material list. Whats up with that?

maybe ET finally realized what they are lacking, unless if they used Diecast for the magnetic joints

I think they always listed diecast in the materials list. They count the steel balls of the joints as "metal content" most of the time.
If there's diecast in this figure, I want to see it, unpainted, like their new Jeeg. Or else, I don't believe it.

What are people's overall thoughts on this line? How does the quality compare to other high quality lines like Bandai Chogokin figures? I realize of course that there's no metal content (except for the upcoming special Jeeg). Particularly worried about how well the magnet joints work and such. Overall thoughts? Great figures if you can get them at a deep discount. But grossly overpriced at MSRP for what they are. The Pro's; - The sculpts and paint apps are superb! Well executed in every way. - They do some figures that we will never see in any other way. - If I am honest the Magnetic Joint gimmick can be a fun desk distraction. Especially with high part figures like Albegas where you will sit there recombining stuff like a 9 year old. - Tons of accesories - Figures are about the right size as and display well with the smaller tier of SOC's or the larger SRC's. (They are about the same size as GX-01) The Con's - Figures are primarily plastic. The only metal is the balls and the magnet mountings. - The Magnets while better than expected, the joints are still soft and floppy. The figures can't really hold poses well. For some joints go in ways joints should not. They will support the figure much better than classic Magnetic Joint figures, and will keep a neutral pose well. But don't expect any real dynamic posing. - These are all parts swapping build a figure types. So transforming/combining robots feel half assed and lame. Transformations are "take everything apart, put it back together in another way with different parts". - The MSRP is hideous on all of them. Fully twice what I would consider the value point for the figures. Keep an eye out for Amazon deals or Spring and Fall sales at the major hobby sites. I managed to get Braiger from Amazon at around $60. At that price it is a fantastic figure. One of my favorites in my collection. Just gorgeous, and one I keep plucking off the shelf and leaving on my desk to play with. At the normal list of twice that? Hell no! Keep in mind these really are nothing like SOC's or SRC's. It's hard to compare them. SOC's and SRC's are all about the precision, the engineering and the ability to hold a pose ro perfectly transform. That's not these. If you ever had an old Baron Karza toy, these are a really really good looking version of that.

Boss Borot doesn't look bad... Except for the arms. I don't think anyone will beat the SOC implementation there. I love the extras like the headband, propeller beanie and inner tube. Not to mention the cannon that the SOC lacks. But the price point is once again obscene for a hollow hunk of plastic. Which is a shame. He looks good, and this is a figure that is almost perfect for their magnetic joints. But for what these are, they really need to get these figures sub $100 (and lay off the transforming bots, which are awful in this format!)
If you are desperate for a Boss Borot, and don't want to pay current $500 prices for the hard to find SOC, this might be a decent option. I mean it isn't quite as bad price wise as others, such as Laserion. If only the arms looked better.

Heh, why are they being mysterious with the 3rd release? We already know about it, it's this chap right here: Manga version of Getter Dragon, cool as hell. Only slightly different than the anime version (Mach Wing is different, head spikes are different...) maybe some other slight differences here and there in the sculpt.. looks nice.

I like everything I see, except for the faceplate. It looks like he's gagged or something.
