I'll pass on these, the new Prime is so generic he could be from any Transformers series and the Megatron colours are just hideous. Why can't they honour Megs colours like they do Primes, Silver, Red, and Black is a killer combination and much better than the later Galvatron ones.

Takara would take in hand the Megatron problem... for the future they must think to a good Megatron form... these kind of Megs are bad for collector

I would think that a little bit of self-repainting would make Megs look a tad bit better.

Because some kids got shot holding reslistic looking toy guns so now anytime in america a gun toycomes out it must be colored so crappy it could never be confused with the real thing.Hey u never know maybe takara will pick up the line and release Megs in true G1 colors.

If it weren't supposed to be Megatron, would people still hate the design so much? I actually think the futuristic gun design is kinda cool. It looks like an energy or chemical weapon.
It's unfortunate that they did paint application over the green plastic, rather than having grey plastic with translucent green inserts. As it is, this Megatron makes use of what is sometimes a disappointingly cheap transformation trick--an alt-mode shell that simply splits apart to reveal the robot. Not only that, but the inside of this Megatron's "wings" are all that green color that doesn't really go with the rest of his color scheme.
Yeah, it begs for fan touch-ups, even for fans (like me, I admit) who might actually like the overall gun mold design.

I never realized how cool this line was going to be. Is it going to to be supported by a corresponding anime series? Although, like most everyone here, the only designs I'm not too keen on are, ironically, the ones of Prime and Megatron.

You can thank the American Government for us never being able to get a "real" G1 Megatron. If you've ever been to Japan there are toy stores that sell almost exact looking replicas of real guns from hand guns all the way to huge ass machine guns. True the gun laws in Japan are so much stricter than in the States so little "Billy" or "Hiro" in Japan won't accidentally get shot holding a fake gun by Cops. But it still astounds me why won't Takara make a G1 accurate Megatron for every other market that doesn't have these toy gun laws, hell the sales in Asia alone would be huge and if North Americans want one there's always Ebay or other online stores. Could it be that Hasbro is holding back a MP version of G1 Megatron due to some legal issues?

Hence thats why toy guns are allowed.. even realistic ones. But in north america... because of so many problems of kids getting shot because of toy guns. They have regulations what is allowed and not allowed. Thats why Meg, looks like it belongs in a different toy line. so much awful bright colours

True, but my point is why not make one anyway. There are tons of figures made just for the Japanese/Asian market that have little regard for North American sales. Why would an American law stop a Japanese company from making a figure for the Asian or European market?

At last.
I thought binaltech/alternators were the lines saving grace BUT they are way to fiddly and downright frustrating for the average kid to get into, also the robot modes to my eyes are getting a bit lame, the aesthetic isnt working, however i do think meister (when correctly posed on his tip toes) is one of the best looking TF's ever....
anyway i digress. Yes, here are some decent realish style vehicles (ignoring the gun for now) which change into some nice looking bots, hotrod and starscream are the gems here. Except for a few models the TF line has sucked since gen 2, i hope now is where its picks back up. HELL i just saw bumblebee, superb, real kibble making the robot.
CBC.

That Bumblebee looks great! I wonder how these figures will compare to Binaltechs size-wise? They might look good displayed together. AWESOME! But whats the 5th wheel behind him? It's probably a hotter, sexier transformer that will complicate the game for the rest of the contestants!!! ;D

Reminds me of Hotshot (the vehicle mode).
