I'm actually not liking Hot Rod anymore. What happened to the wings?
That jet ski behind Bumblebee is a bit odd. Cute, but still odd.
Does Astrotrain still transform into...a train?

Thanks for the link. I hope Hot Rod's wings will still end up looking like they do in that link.

www.tf-1.com/articles/other_frame.php?art=classicastroa nice link to an astrotrain pre prod? piece. Aside from the weaker train mode I feel that the designers really carried on from where gen 1 left. The kibble forms real parts of the robot (i like the big chuky arms), its transformation looks simple enough but still involved and intersesting. The look of the robot is just right, Almost a gen one brick in static pose but then comes to life with its articulations. I notice starscream images seem to show a toy that looks a little 'plasticky', perhaps due to the colour choice but astro trains colours work and stop it looking cheap. oh and i also love the way the head is tucked away like one of the gen 1 clones! I hope the rest of the line is as good. CBC.

Neo-G1's shaping up but I still agree with LZ. We need more classic G1 reissues!

of course we need more gen 1 reissues, for me the dinobots are the most obvious choice, true genius.
as for astrotrain classic, I reckon its one of the nicest TF toys ive seen since gen 1. the phot of him next to the vintage figure shows how pleasing the look is, it doesnt look clumsy or ugly next to vintage design.
Ive felt that the majority of TF's since the beast wars started have been plain ugly. I remember seeing the RID cars and being excited that tf's were vehicles again but the robot modes were awful, i hate the legs that are not made of car parts. armada and energon just went plain silly with the fantasy vehicles from which any old robot mode can be concocted, cybertron has improved the line but has led me to buy just one toy, red alert.
Hopefully kids will like the new classics.
CBC.

Face it. Most stuff coming out in mass production in the US are going to be plastic.

the minicons look great for kids but from an adult collectors point of view a big no. Im starting to wonder why this is called the classics line.
