The fuselage looks a little short in Fighter mode, but considering how long the legs look in Battroid mode I think it must be a consequence of the photo angle.

The fuselage is a tad short, but I read that it was a compromise for a more accurate looking Battroid mode. Remember the 'John Holmes' syndrome on the 1/48 VF-1's? Yamato can easily make the length of the Fuselage 'correct' but it will result in the same 'hung' Valk. IMHO, the compromise on the shorter nose doesn't affect the entire look of the VF-0. It still looks good in Valk, and Battroid mode. ;D

It wasn't the nose, actually - it was the intakes against the fuselage that seemed a little short compared to the length of the legs in Battroid.

A definite must have, for all Macross Collectors.
I know the 1/100 previously chiseled fizzed out, but does anyone know where to get the prototype from?
I would really interested in having that piece of mecha.

You can try contacting Yamato Japan for any possibility of getting the prototypes.

Why is the 1/60 scale VF-0S as expensive as the 1/48 VF-1S??!!! It seems pretty overpriced for a 1/60 valk even for a Yamato valk.

Why is the 1/60 scale VF-0S as expensive as the 1/48 VF-1S??!!! It seems pretty overpriced for a 1/60 valk even for a Yamato valk. Here's a list of length comparisons between the real world F-14 Tomcat, and the VF Variants from Macross. Grumman F-14 Tomcat = 18.90 m/19.1 m (F-14A/D, before F-14A+2 modification) VF-1x = 14.23m VF-0x = 18.69 m VF-11x = 16.02 m YF-19 = 18.62 m Based on that information, the VF-0 is a fairly larger machine (by 4 meters) than the VF-1. If you scale it down, the 1/60 VF-0 will be about the same size as the 1/48 VF-1. This is why it's going to have the same price as the 1/48's. Hope that helps clear things up.

Thanks for the details on dimensions. Preorders here in the US are running $160-190 for the VF-0S which is about the same cost as (or more than) the 1/48 VF-1S. I hope there's a bit more diecast content (than in the 1/48 VF-1S) for that kind of money.
