Some digibashes are surfacing too :  &^&$*&& FINALLY!!!! THE TRUE ULTRA MAGNUS THAT IS NOT A WHITE PRIME WITH ARMOR ON!!!. It does appear like the shoulder placement is similar to Titanium Magnus. im not surprise, Titanium Magnus is pretty much as close to the G2 cartoon than other previews magnus at the time. i mean pretty much every other magnus was a white Optimus Prime with armored up. im really happy we are getting the real Ultra Magnus and not another White Optimus Prime recolor with add on armor, and it looks fantastic. I still am surprised how much bigger the is than MP10. Based on the Sunbow chart he should be only about a head taller. Maybe I am looking at ir wrong. Still, looks great. is not that far off, indeed Ultra Magnus is like a head taller than Prime but alot of people believed that Magnus was more taller than prime because the difference between the 2 is that Magnus is the truck and the trailer as one unlike prime which he was only the truck. so logically speaking Magnus would be a bit more taller to prime.  |

It made the sealed copy that I got from AE a bargain.

Since Magnus is no longer a white Prime with armor, I almost wish they had slim down his limbs just a tad, since they are not meant to wrap around any inner limbs anymore. They have a very boxy look, more so than the (sometimes crudely drawn) G1 cartoon. Se some 1/48 Yamato Armored VF-1 vibe when it comes to the bulkyness. Just being a bit picky here. But so glad we finally see a legit MP Magnus after a decade of MP line.

I went with Nippon Yasan on this one. They've been good with my previous orders. Can't wait till I have both of CStack and MP22 Magnus in my hands, side by side. I'll probably keep Magnus in car carrier mode because I like CStack in robot mode better.

Add them to the list of nono's along with Nippon-Yasan Yep, time to give some warning to AE. I met Massimo in Tokyo in 2010 : he is a nice guy, Now I agree, AE needs to have better communication. For sure they have tons of emails with customers wanting this or that and they prefer to temporize by responding at the last minute... Nippon Yasan built a ticket system to improve feedbacks and customers comunication. But, the difference, with AE, is that we pay PO in advance and when having no response make us a bit nervous. I have a stack of MP ready to get shipped : I already paid shipping but the ET poseidon I have with this order is a mess of QC and AE is waiting ET to ship a new one... I sent a pile of emails asking to ship all without ET item... Still no response. So, if they do not respond to the email I sent yesterday, I will first open a thread in our forum to see what's going on between AE and our members, then we will see what's next... Back to topic : MP UM will be probably a great achievement for Takara. This character is very popular and G1 toy got a massive recognition from toy collectors. The only magic we will lost a bit is that it won't be a robot we put an armor on it. The reward is a new toy with a full transformation. 30 years we all are waiting this and you know what, it is cartoon accurate ! Hell yeah ! Next hourra will be a MP ratchet and Ironhide (the most disapointing G1 toy ever). |

Back on topic, this design does look more complicated then the KFC one which adds to a more "cluttered" look. Personally I like it better, it's not as tall as the KFC one but Magnus does look more powerful. Plus Takara has some of the best engineers in the business, I can't wait to see colored prototypes.

You know, if it's a bit taller (I think the dengeki hobby scan mentions the height of MP22 is 308mm) it probably wouldn't get it's squashed look, and can achieve the profile of the animation model. Right now, the definitive advantage that it has over CStack is probably its impeccable alternate mode; possible better material and weight; and better scale with MP10. However, IMHO, CStack has the advantages in its robot mode profile, cleaner transformation (look ma, no butt flap), and very possibly, articulation and balance.

RK has listed that this will come with a Spike and Daniel figure if true I'm betting its the white jumpsuit versions which will also go with the exosuit version coming with Bee. All we need now is Chip, Carly, and Sparkplug. I bought the Dr. Wu versions so I'm good with construction Spike and Sparkplug but I want a Chip.

Maybe it was too difficult to implement a core robot transformation sequence? Still, we finally get a stand alone UM. After almost 30 years............so happy!

Not sure if they will bother with all the diaclone repaints since its no longer an armor. I think a blue, and the clear yellow might had been a good addition.
