I think it will be over 200$ for sure. What combining/changing SOC was ever under 200$ regardless of size. Walker Gallia & Xabungle were combiners/transforming ones that were under $100. For transforming ones there was Gold Lightan, Leopardan, Reideen, all well under $200. Regardless, times have changed and so have exchange rates. I would be very surprised if this toy was under $200. I hope it is, but I certainly don't expect it to be.

SOC Combiners were never over $200 USD. Voltes, Combattler, Dancouga, etc never hit that mark - years ago that is. The exchange rate has certainly screwed us big. }D

Thankfully yen rate has gone back down significantly the past few months. Still now quite 110 like it was years ago, but 90is a heck of a lot better than 75.

I don't think they ever dropped the official date and price yet for this thing. But going by Tamashii Website's lineup of scheduled releases so far I don't think it will be May. The Danguard isn't even listed. Best bet I'd say, after July, maybe August? Here's the lineup up to July 2013, but it is subject to change.. tamashii.jp/item_schedule/201308Gold

Bandai averages 6 to 9 months from announcement to release. The Danguard Ace was announced at the end of October 2012 IIRC. I'll take a wild guess and say it will most likely be released this summer. }D

Thanks mcc for the info. Dangard A with all the vehicles is looking good! I wonder what weapons will be in the set. Cheers, 70's Super Robot Fan!

Nice, you can tell it won't be huge but it will be a nice figure. I wonder what the panels in the lower legs open up for? You can see it in Satalizer mode. Maybe to store the forearms perhaps?

Don't the fists seem kinda weird? Like really thin and flat? Still, I am loving this much more than the Yamato version.

Ok the fist seem to have a FOLD IN feature notice the joint on the wrist/forarm.Im guessing more hands come with this,as these are the perfect transformation hands that fold in like with Combattler/Voltes push in hands etc.

Wow, it is small! it is standing on a stage act 4 stand, which is smaller than the stage act 5 stands commonly used for the SRCs. The transformation fists look weird, like Gundam hands.

As i said better larger hands will come with this, look how odd the hands are for Combattler and Voltes without the add ons.
Also my thinking here about the size of Danguard is that compared to the old lines the main Popy/Mattel"Shogun warriors" were all of similar size. This carried over to the SOC line, the ones we got in America are basically Gaiking,Reideen,Getter Dragon,Mazinger and Danguard, all of similar size all are ST popy robots..
So naturally it wont be as big as the combiner classics like Combattler or Voltes even though they came in ST sizes their main toy was a DX size, the others only came in small ST sizes. This is what Bandai is thinking Im sure of it.
Danguard Ace fits in with those smaller size Super Robots, not with the larger combiners. We are comparing Yamato Danguard with the SOC one,and not thinking about what the toy ratos sizes in teh past really were.Bandai is keeping it how they were originally done.

But the SRC line was supposed to be the revival of the old ST line, and the SOC maintained the old DX line. The new SOC Danguard is more like a transformable SRC than an SOC entry. I hope this will not become the fate of future SOC combiners.

Look at the original Danguard Ace DX toy, and compare it with other DX Chogokins from that time. You will see that it is was quite small.
That is what the Baron is trying to explain to you.

You are saying is that bandai made it small because the GA-79 was small? Are they honoring the old toy or making a modern SOC of the character Danguard A? Because if what they are is making a modern SOC, they did not have to make it the same size as the old Godaikin. They didn't make the first SOC as small as the old Chogokin, so why do it now?
