Damn, your Voltron looks waaaay cleaner than mine! Will's right about the flash seams in those areas... smooth those flashes away so the new decals can apply smoothly onto the surfaces. I haven't gotten around to detaching the feet on mine; and from what I can see in your pics, the feet are hollow... ...gives me an idea whether I should fill my feet with solid foam for a little added weight, or leave the feet as Hollow "compartments" for use as coin banks. ;D As for the elbows on my Voltron... I'm thinking about replacing them with custom-made cylinder joints, cast like the elbows on the Toynami Voltron figure. zozo-mag

It's amazing just how "plain" this jumbo looks without all of the decals.

I have to second that on WIlls suggestion concerning the flash, especially on the whisker areas. It's really easy to do and it gives it a better appearance as well.

Does anyone know if the wings can be detached? I plan to make my own Voltron wings... any pics of the wings by themselves (front, and rear view) would help me get a good view of the panel lines, compared to the wings on the Toynami Voltron. Thanks zozo-mag

On this version they are attached by a plastic screw, the kind that kind of flares out, so when you push it in it would be hard to pull back out without breaking them.

No problem.... I'll just use the Toynami's wings for reference. zozo-mag

Actually, I think front and back may be the same, let me look. I can take close up pics of the front at least.

Thanks! Also, some good news for those of us who don't have a Blazing Sword for our jumbo Voltrons... www.entertainmentearth.com/prodinfo.asp?number=RU3932#.UV8eLTeyJhwI don't know if This sword advertised here would fit in scale with the Voltron jumbo. I don't care, I'll give it a shot with mine and see how it fits. This sword will save me the trouble of making my own. I'll order it next week after I pay off a couple debts. zozo-mag

It's actually longer than the Voltron, but the sword was pretty long in the show.

Oh man, now that you mention about applying decals... ...tomorrow evening at my job, I'll borrow a rubber spatula and bring it home...... so that I can video-record a quick tutorial on how to apply decals to flat surfaces. It'll come in handy for those of us who'd like to know how to apply the decals effectively without any wrinkles, air-bubbles, nor trapped specs. I used to work at a sign-making shop where I learned how to apply vinyl letters to substrates (sign surface materials) by using rubber/plastic squeegees and rubber spatulas, to avoid getting lumps and air-bubbles trapped beneath the vinyl. zozo-mag That sucker gonna look brand new soon. That'd be great. I'm really more worried about applying them straight, and in the right spot.

Coming from someone who also sucks at applying stickers, you did a really good job! Congratulations!

Very nice Voltron! I like the idea of having beefier springs, this way you can hold customized accessories that are heavier than normal. These LJN Voltrons are similar to the Disco-D17's in my opinion. They are cheap and easy to convert to their Popy counterparts. Definitely the most cost effective alternative out there. Besides, Voltron alone has such a bad ass look to him. Great job applying the decals and cleaning him up.

Thanks guys. The decals were actually easier to do than I had anticipated. Thanks again to Will for the stickers, and for his how-to thread. Funny thing I just noticed while looking at the before pics is that a couple of the original stickers had been attached incorrectly. Hey, has anyone attached wheels to their Voltron? Since there are already holes from being attached to the rolling base I thought it might be fun to find some little wheels for this guy.

Wow, you did a helluva terrific job cleaning him up and making him look much better than his Before state! And you also managed to apply the stickers really good, they're not wrinkled, no specs nor air-bubbles trapped beneath them, even without my sticker tutorial (I apologize for not getting to that sooner). Slap a set of wheels on him and you'll have an even Better looking "Vehicle Voltron" than MP's rendition! ;D I'm leaving mine without wheels... I've never liked the wheels-on-feet idea for these toys ever since they first rolled out back in their day. lol Great Job, Bro! zozo-mag
