Thanks gents! Nope, no putty on the arms. All original! Back to the Kaiser-Pileder, I decided to give something else a try, and it worked out perfectly! It does not have the full "batwing" tail fin shape, but it is a lot sturdier. This helps prevent any breaking or bending the fin when removing it and putting it back on. Besides, I like the way it looks a lot better than the modified original one it came with. I may decide to trim the tail fin a little, but not too much. I don't want it breaking on me or snapping off if the figure falls on its face some day. Now, it's time to tackle those horrible thighs!!! }D

Good Lord...! Those thighs are giving me hell!!! Damn you Bandai, for making the SRCs impossible to completely disassemble! }[

OUCH! Have you tried using a flat file instead?
On a side note: I suspect Bandai rigged the SRCs that way to prevent bootlegs and knockoffs. Because if the SRCs could be completely disassembled, it would be easier to copy the parts and articulation engineering.

Don't know what's going on there to make you upset, I think you're doing a helluva fantastic job- and those thighs look awesome already! There are times when you get that gut-feeling when a custom job looks good enough to stop before you cross the line and do Too Much to it that the procedure cannot be reversed... case in point: those thighs. I see you trimmed them down flush with the rest of the surface; it looks much better Now than what Bandai had originally sculpted. Now it seems you're having a hard time masking all the other leg parts to avoid getting them mis-painted. If it takes a whole lot of careful masking, then every piece of masking tape applied is worth it to protect the other parts from getting painted. Just relax and take your time, and be patient with it. I can see the knee joints in back had gotten painted with some of the white. Don't know if that is what you had intended, or if it's just paint bleedage. If those joints were meant to be Gold, you can go back to them later and gently thin away the white overpaint, and then touch those joints up with a light sanding and then have the Gold applied with a fine-tipped brush. There aint no "deadlines" for that here at RJ! zozo-mag

pretty good so far, im a bit concern that his tights might look a bit to wide. btw, i though you where gonna hide or close that open cavity on the tight.
Question:
- Are you gonna paint the head and neck as well to match the color of his arms'legs and waist area or are you gonna leave it untouch? - Are you gonna increase the mass proportion of his waist area to match better with the mass increase of his upper arm and legs? im a bit concern it might look even smaller.

Thanks bro! Unfortunately, Mazinkaiser is one of the "grossly oversized" SRCs, like Shin Mazinger and Grendizer. Also, there is not much that can be done to make the waist bigger due to the amount of room available in the "pants", and the arms and legs can't be made smaller due to their design. But it will look like an SRC version of the original Mazinkaiser, instead of the hybrid design Bandai went for. Had it been made with the same proportions as the Mazinkaizer SKL, it would be a totally different story. The back of the legs can't be messed with, because it would pretty much screw up the knee articulation. As far as the paint, I'm not going to touch the head, and the final color for the biceps, waist, and thighs is going to be a very light grey, like in the anime. }D

From the way the arms are done now, it almost looks like a miniature "Aoshima" Mazinkaiser! zozo-mag

you gonna try do to the manga/OVA version Mazinger Z? btw, how did you manage to open the legs? I was thinking about making silicone molds of most of the parts, for future customs. Unfortunately, I was not able to pry open the piece that covers Mazinger's forearm screw, so I used Great Mazinger's instead. Ruined the screw covers on the thighs thou. Will have to make new ones. The screw covers on the lower legs came off pretty easily. Bandai didn't use much superglue on those, as opposed to the thighs... }D
