It's cool that they've retained the brainmaster gimmick of the original toy. That was always a neat effect.

It's cool that they've retained the brainmaster gimmick of the original toy. That was always a neat effect. I'm actually kinda wondering how it'll work. The original Brainmaster gimmick had the faces built-into the brainmaster figures, which technically made them interchangeable, much like headmasters and powermasters...but I don't think any fiction ever exploited this fact. So for all I know, the face might be built into the Saber unit instead.

So for all I know, the face might be built into the Saber unit instead. I have to imagine that it'll be built into Saber rather than into the small brainmaster figure. The original brainmaster was a brick because of the necessity for the gimmick. The new brainmaster is svelte and anime-proportioned and it doesn't look like it's got any space in it for a faceplate.

I still wish they'd just reissue the original.
I wanted to just drop everything and only collect reissues (and the occasional good deal on a vintage TF maybe) from now on, dammit.

To further milk your money, I would not be surprised if Takara-Tomy reissues the G1 toy if the MP sales are good. And I'm "eagerly" looking forward to the black Star Saber version and the Shining-PISS version. W00t.

Given your location Chen, have you ever purchased from Eric over at Toys2? I've bought stuff from him before and his prices aren't horrid...and you'd save on shipping since he's local.

Nope I didn't even know about that place but ill check it out thanks! LOL, oh. Yeah, he's over in Markham. Small little shop that carries a nice variety of stuff...he's come through for me many times for things. Inwards and Rainbot (from TBDX) are a couple of other regulars of his. Eric was who got me the Fewture G Getter set for a nice price.
