Hello! I'm new here. Searching the internet for '35 Brave Gohkin Kotetsu Jeeg' a few weeks ago directed me to this forum. Great information here, thank you! I grew up watching Mazinger Z and 'El Festival de los Robots' in the 80's, which was televised in all of Latin America and consisted of the following: El Vengador (Steel Jeeg - 1975) El Gladiador (Great Dragon Gaiking - 1976) Supermagnetrón (Magne Robo Gakeen - 1976) El Galáctico (Starzinger - 1978) Guillermo del Toro must have grown up watching the same shows. I went to see Pacific Rim and it brought me back to my childhood, and it made me remember all of these shows I used to watch. So I did a search of each of the characters above and I saw for the first time that they had recently released collectible, toy robots based on these shows. That is when, for the first time, I became a collector of toy robots. I had never collected anything before. My favorite shows were Mazinger Z, Great Dragon Gaiking, and Starzinger. Anybody here know when SOG or CM will release Starzinger collectibles? I know they are not robots, but they are anime cyborgs, close enough for me. Glad to have joined this forum! Thank you!

Welcome! Nothing new on the horizon for Starzinger toys, AFAIK. However, you can always seek out the vintage ones! Look for Popy or Victora toys (the manufacturers).

Hi, new to these parts. I'll probably just lurk for the most part. Grew up a big Godzilla fan and had the Shogun Warrior version as a kid, I was just a bit too young to have caught them when they actually came out, but an uncle gave me a Shogun Gaiking and I also had the LJN Voltron. Gaiking ended up destroyed and lost as that's what kids do, but I still have my Godzilla, Voltron and a beat up 3rd version Manzinga I picked up in a trade a few years ago.
Looking to pick up the other Shogun Warriors, but the prices are kind of wacky these days. Just keeping my eyes open for good deals on the easy ones before I even start thinking about the more rare Japanese Machinders.
I also collect pretty much any Voltron stuff and Wheeled Warriors (though they don't seem to have much of a following). Anyway, just wanted to say hi as I look around.

Welcome guys!! Jump right in and enjoy!! Timpopkid, you've come to the right place for the Shogun's, some great people on here that are always willing to help out. Keep an eye on the buy, sell, trade threads. Jumbos come up every so often in there.

Keep an eye on the buy, sell, trade threads. Jumbos come up every so often in there. Will be doing that for sure. My master plan involves trying to pick up some that are missing pieces on the cheap and then hopefully being able to complete them by buying repro parts and stickers from the folks here (if those people would be kind to someone just starting out with the collection). I'm not in it for potential resell value, I just want some cool robots to put on top of the shelves I keep my record collection in.

Well then you've really come to the right place!! Some of the repro masters on here are truely the best you'll find! Honestly, they'll blow your mind with the craftsmenship!! Hang in there man, get to know these guys, get a wish list together and be patient. I've managed to knock out 8 of my top 10 wish list since being on here, and added a few extras to my collection along the way. Just don't be surprized at how addicting it can get!

There are a few here who are also avid kaiju collectors, myself included.

As you can probably tell from my avatar, I love Godzilla; The Shogun Warriors Godzilla is one of my all time favorite toys. I don't have a huge kaiju collection at all, but I have always loved robots and monsters together, and that is why Pacific Rim really hit all the right notes with me when I saw it. As for kaiju, I have several Godzilla pieces, and I am collecting the Pacific Rim figures and of course the kaiju from the movies. What type of collection do you have? If you have a gallery, I would like to see it.
