Hello, I'm Peter and I'm 37 and from the UK. (Blah, blah blah!) I've been a big Transformers fan ever since the beginning in 1984, and I won't pretend to know all these robot Japanese robot shows, toys etc - I'm new to it all. I found a site recently however, that sold mostly cheap or KO robots and as cheap some of them looked some of them I still found pretty sweet. After all these years I started to have a revelation, that I just like robots in general. I mean I like mecha and have dipped my toe into collecting other imaged of things like Macross, Robotech etc, but I've never ventured further than that. After finding the toy site I found, I then watched a video review, usually it's Transformers, but this one was for the Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger DX Plezu Oh, and I just loved those and geeked out. So yeah, I'm here to broaden my knowledge and horizons! I've also know of this board for many years as I have a friend here, Shaxper, but it appears he's no longer active. Shame.

Glad to have you, Hoist. Yeah, not sure why Shaxper disappeared. He used to be a pretty active member here. Welcome! So what kind of kaiju collection do you have? There are a few here who are also avid kaiju collectors, myself included. Thanks for the welcome! Sorry it took a while to respond. As you can probably tell from my avatar, I love Godzilla; The Shogun Warriors Godzilla is one of my all time favorite toys. I don't have a huge kaiju collection at all, but I have always loved robots and monsters together, and that is why Pacific Rim really hit all the right notes with me when I saw it. As for kaiju, I have several Godzilla pieces, and I am collecting the Pacific Rim figures and of course the kaiju from the movies. What type of collection do you have? If you have a gallery, I would like to see it. You can see some of it here, but I've added quite a bit and rearranged significantly since then. Its a mix of vintage (Bullmarks, Marusans) and modern (Bandai, B-Club, Max Toy Co., Yamomark, etc.). robotjapan.proboards.com/thread/7251/kingboyds-stuff?page=4

Thanks.
Shame about Shaxper, he used to be my moderator an old sci-fi forum I used to have (2002 - 2004) before it got deleted.

Hello Gents, My name is Enrique and next month I'll be 40 I am originally from Venezuela but I moved, married and lived happily ever after in Canada, I grew up watching Mazinger Z and from the very first day I watched that show it has remained my favorite Super Robot and show of all time, I do like many other robots and shows specially from the 70's and 80's of course all Go Nagai's creations including Gaiking as well. I just started collecting the SRC series, before that I never really collected toys/figures, but I am really hooked on those robots, for me they're perfect since I can't really afford the most expensive SOC line and I kind of prefer the smaller size of the SRC, it's a nice combination of quality and price. I've been reading the board for a few weeks already and I amazed of the level of knowledge and passion you guys have for this, I've learned a ton already and hopefully I'll apply this knowledge to my collecting and future purchase, it cool I found a place to talk about this hobby, my wife just gives me the death stare when I am opening a new figure. Oh and I hope this hobby don't destroy my wallet. cheers!

Oh, oops...late introducing myself. Anyhow, always loved robots (actually, cars, timepieces, and robots -- not in that order; it's equally). My Mom said my first words were "car" (in Chinese)...and soon after that, it was robots. Grew up in Asia and so, immersed with Super Robot shows and stuff from Japan. Came to North America in the mid-80s and was immediately swept up in the Gobots/Transformers world and had a few here and there when my folks could afford one. I officially started up this "disease" of hoarding toy robots in 1999 when I discovered Soul of Chogokin and my GF at the time bought me the GX-02 Great Mazinger for a b-day gift. I shortly bought the Combattler V from the same store that sold the Great Maz. Then, went on the Internet and soon discovered what I had missed out in my teens. Holy crap. I remember my first online purchases were more SoCs and Takara's Transformers 2000 line...I bought up everything. I also discovered the wealth of knowledge in online communities like TBDX where I posted regularly for a few years but then fell off for awhile when some of my friends started to leave that forum...With some of those same friends, we started up Zinc Panic. In the meantime, I continued to collect rather furiously until fast forward to today. It's a bit slower now that I've had my first child (just since March) and with different priorities. But, I still will buy some must-haves...which, my wife thinks is, too many "must-haves"...but, definitely try to stay far away from repaints. So, I collect anything Japanese and gokin...has to fit both criteria. The odd exception could be made for a plastastic toy (i.e. Gundam Zeonography) here and there if I think it is cool. My collection is pretty sizable but other than the odd vintage (i.e. Takatoku Battleground Combination Goshogun, some Orguss, and etc.), mostly new stuff. Gundam, Super Robots, Transformers, Macross, Zoids, are all game. I also collect the occasional 1/18 diecast car from AutoArt and Kyosho. Timepieces, I love...but, can't start collecting because the $$$$ needed is insanity. Just a couple. I'm a long-time lurker of this forum but with the Toyfreakz fiasco, decided to finally post something a couple weeks back. Anyhow, great forum.

Hi there, my name is Tristan and I'm from the Philippines. I grew up watching super robots and I once had a good collection of old die cast robots in my youth. I've had many hobbies over the years but robot toys have always been my first love. Right now I have a few Master Grades and some chogokins but I did stop collecting for a few years since they've become so expensive to collect and I have a daughter to take care of. Lately I've started collecting again and I fell in love with the SRC line since they're easier to collect, not too heavy on the budget, look real good and it has the robots that I love. I also have some interesting projects that I would like to share with you guys but I'm still finishing one which I hope you guys would appreciate.
