I'm going to have to check out some of these middleman services.
I recently used Private-Import-Japan and it was a smooth transaction. They basically bid for you, if you win they get the item shipped to them..then they ship to you. You pay a fee (%) and shipping to you. So besides the auction you pay shipping 2x and a fee. Worked out well for me.. I got a 60$ item paid only a 18$ fee and 25$ for the second ship.
Searching was easy but I couldn't help feel I wasn't seeing everything I wanted to. I guess due to translation and my lack of japanise terms.

That sounds exactly like Rinkya. A little confusing at first but they are very helpful. Searching is a bit tricky though....

I like Rinkya because I can bid and decide to spend more. I like having control over the auction.
You have to up your limit sometimes though.. haha I'm about to make a massive purchase tonight. Probably the most I've ever spent on a toy.. or anything other than my Car or a Trip haha.

Well.. Rinkya would barely load for me when I tried to bid on an item. I lost out because I couldn't put in a counterbid because the d**n software was timing out.
Probably won't use them again.

I had a bad experience with Rinkya. Yes, they are the "middle man" but they are the only link you have between the seller and your item. If Rinkya doesn't want to help you correct something on an incorrect item then YOU are the one that will have to eat the mistake. You cannot take repercussions against the seller because you didn't pay him (auction is technically between him and Rinkya) and you can't claim anything against Rinkya or they will lock your account. I won a jacket for my son and apparently the seller had sent the wrong size to Rinkya. They returned it and the seller sent another to Rinkya about a month later (ok possibly not their fault). When I received the item, although it was tagged the correct size, the actual size was incorrect (so it was actually tagged incorrectly). I sent pics and showed measurements to Rinkya and they actually told me that "the only thing we can do is just buy another one". SERIOUSLY!!! They refused to help me get the correct size, I was still out the commission that I paid them nor did they even offer to refund me the commission I paid, and I was stuck with an Item that I couldn't use. They were willing to loose a customer over a $40 commission!!!.......For me it wasn't about the money but more of the principal of the whole thing. If using Rinkya, definitely BUYER BEWARE!!!!

Something to seriously think abot Toykrazy! The cheapest item I'm looking at right now is about $1000.

Yeah, Jumbos are expensive most of the time. I don't really collect them, but I have two Unifive Mazinger Z's, Unifive Gaiking, and my original played with condition, Shogun Warriors Great Mazinga, Gaiking, Deimos, and Godzilla... and a Dragun body with a Mazinga head. }D

Nice! The Unifive Gaiking is not one on my wish list, but, it's one I'll pick up sooner or later. Try to picture the Dragun with Mazinga head... I'll bet that's different.
