Got my SOC General Franky minutes ago. A real beast, he's massive! But I'm a tiny bit disappointed, I thought he was going to have a perfect transformation, but it's not the case. The center part of the motorcycle doesn't have any use in robot mode (but I decided to use it as some funky clubbing device), and the cockpit part has to be removed and switched with another between modes. The functional articulated (plastic) tank treads are awesome though. Looks killer on display! Oh, and got hit with customs, so an extra $41 to pay on top of that. So much to save with AmiAmi! How are the joints? Is there a lot of diecast? |

I'm not home right now, so I can't doublecheck, but on top of my head, joints are good (several of the clicky type), figure is relatively heavy, legs are all die-cast, I'm sure there's more die-cast, I just can't remember where it is right now. I'll check again tonight.

So, there's more die-cast inside the main body (like the 2 metal bars holding the cannon/head piece, shoulders, hips, etc.). Nothing on the outside. 2 small pieces of die-cast on the arms, not sure if there's any inside, it's hard to tell. Paint apps are immaculate. Liking the big guy more and more!

Cancelled my preorder with bbts. I love this gokin but the fewture glex gokin getter dragon threesome is the new love of my life. Gonna pass on this and put my money into those.
Besides many people on this thread are saying this franky will likely end up being heavily price cut. Either way I'll take that risk.

man i trashed this robot but if it goes for half price i will be getting it. Funky robot shelf mmmmm nice. Franky, Boss Borot, Baratak, and Caramel man.

Lol... is it just me or is everybody (including myself) waiting for this one to go on half price? Can't seem to find decent reviews of this either. With so much stuff this last quarter pouring out, Franky seems like a low priority for most folks.

Some places already have it below retail. Amiami and Robotkingdom had it at $200 and $199. Shipping is kind of pricey though because of the huge box. Mine should be here tomorrow.

Yay thanks! How about SOC Big O if you have one? I think they're supposed to be similar height. Otherwise any SOC comparisons are appreciated!

Thanks! For comparison's sake, here it is next to SRC Grendizer. Funny thing about this comparison picture is that the SRC Grendizer looks like it has bigger legs than this General Franky SoC. Gotta admit that I do find this General Franky SoC aesthetically pleasing. I like the looks a lot more than Daioja. But I have no interest in buying either. But if you gave me the choice between the two, I would take this General Franky over Daioja every day of the week. |
