It probably won't, sadly. Neca's other 18" super-sized figures are impressive in person (they do look nice up-close). But still, no matter how you look at it, it's still a really big scaled-up versions of their regular action-figure. I'm probably going to get this.

I'm not crazy about the robot designs of pacific rim. I could've done a better job. Literally

I'm not crazy about the robot designs of pacific rim. I could've done a better job. Literally You know something....I won't lie, the designs in this range from kinda ugly to decent. Gipsy Danger grows on you though. At least it did for me, which is why I now have a preorder with BBTS. Also, I'm showing my support for the property with this purchase. I think all that matters for me is that while the designs may not have the progressive, sleek esthetics of the Japanese influences they espouse, I love what they represent and what they are attempting to introduce to casual and hard-core fans. I suppose the designs and the movie represent something unique in cinema. You don't see big robots smashing up big kaiju every summer or this well done. It's quite a tribute to the stuff we all enjoy most! Can't wait to get my hands on this.

Agree 100% with you guys. We must support everything about this film! Yeah, the regular figures are cool but not really my style, as they have too much "Real Robot" in their design. The Knifehead Kaiju was nice but its articulation is pretty much 1970's style. My daughter wants them, so I'm gonna just give them to her and I hope to have better luck with the 18" version of the Gypsy Danger. At least it will be bigger. }D

the more I hear of this movie, the more I'm wanting to see it...
but I've been hearing 2 things that make me want to LOVE it, and an opposite that makes me want to HATE it...
"It's like a Go-Nagi anime in Live action form!" LOOOOVE!
"it's like Evangelio-"HAAAAAAAAAAATE!

Naw the human drama is pretty minimal and the fight scenes are well worth slogging through it. The designs in toy-form are ok but they do look much more impressive on the big screen.

Do yourself a favor, and see it before it leaves. When's this toy coming out anyways?I'm looking every day for a notice from BBTS.

The PR figures are not my main collection focus. But, YES, I would like to at least have the 7" versions of all the jaeger bots and some kaijus, all on their own separate display shelf. zozo-mag
