Is the 18" Gipsy Danger still available anywhere to preorder? I checked a few sites and it's already sold out. Alternately, do you think the availability of it will be OK after it gets officially released, and if so, do you think the prices will be astronomical?

Secondary market might see a tick up in price, but it depends on how Neca handles this release in terms of reprints. As long as they make another batch or have the opportunity to produce more, it should keep the prices reasonable all around. If not, you'll be stuck with risking a substantial price increase with our aftermarket partners. Edit: answering your original question, unfortunately I've not seen it available anywhere else currently. Hoping that Neca does another run seeing as this is per-sold out.

You can still preorder it (one of the last places left): www.hobby-galaxy.com/It's run by a collector, and the guy seems legit. He's got a good reputation on the 1/6 collector sites.

Dang. Sorry about that. I just canceled my preorder there yesterday because I picked up a stray one at BBTS. Thought it would last longer. Maybe someone else here saw my post in the meantime?
Anyway, I called a local dealer, and apparently, retailers are really being limited on the number of this figure they can order.

Let us know how it is. Here's hoping I'll be able to pick up one of the Play Imaginative versions!

Great news! I pre-ordered it from BBTS a while back. Hopefully it won't be too floppy (the joints), and be able to stand on its own unassisted. }D

Yeah, I got a preorder in at Anime Island, but it was way after everyone else had it marked as sold out. I don't have any previous experience with Anime Island, so I hope they honor my preorder, and don't do like other sites where they let everyone preorder but then can't fulfill them all.

One of the local toy shop is offering preorders on the 18" Gipsy Danger at an affordable 130usd and especially for such a big figure. Its too good to be ture. Which in turn bags the question, what will the toy be primarily made of? Hollow plastic? Definitly cant expect any diecast in there at all.

Perhaps most likely the 18" PR figures are made of that thick hollow plastic material like those 31" Superman jumbos we've been seeing lately. Or some tough vinyl plastic like a jumbo machinder.
Any die-cast in an 18" figure would surely raise the price of it, since die-cast is so expensive to mold and cast.

Back when most places had preorders, they were in the $80-$100 range, as far as I saw. For example, BBTS has the retail price listed as $100 and had them for $85 until they sold out: www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product.aspx?product=NEC12212&mode=retailI got mine preordered from Anime Island for $81 + $16 shipping. So $130 doesn't sound too outrageous.

I'm hesitant on the 18" Knifehead Kaiju. The 7" Knifehead is way too small in comparison to the Gypsy Danger, to the point it looks bad standing next to it. If NECA makes the 18" Knifehead keeping the same proportions as their 7" figure, it will also look ridiculous next to the Jaeger. It also concerns me that there are no pictures of the 18" Knifehead prototype standing next to the 18" Gypsy Danger. So, I'll pass on the 18" Kaiju until I can actually see some pics of the real deal. }D

Damn! I was expecting a lighted cockpit and articulated fingers! It is still a cool figure, but not as cool as I thought it would be. BBTS has not shipped mine yet, nut after watching the video, I sort of lost interest. I may even get rid of it eventually... }|
