I'm running some translations now but not coming up with much. I originally thought Thai but it's not that.
It kind of looks Korean, is there any paperwork or other markings on the box, other than the made in Taiwan?

It's all Chinese writing... none of that is Korean.

I have 7 of these v belts but thus is the only one I have that has this writing. That is very interesting about Bandai and thus company. I have speculated that they were doing a legitimate run of Go lions as I have a boxed set that says Galion on the box. It is identical to my Taiwanese matchbox in the sense that you can see where the Bandai was removed under the chins. The Lions are all identical and just as solid. I also have a set of red and green lions with chrome elbows and tails in a box Marked as Golion. These variants amaze me I am a super geek for these. I appreciate you guys helping me figure this out

Ok. So here's what my girlfriend says:
Language is Chinese (my girlfriend also says it's traditional Chinese) as darkfriar noted above. ---------- Picture 1 (main box lid) has three characters.
100 (bai) / Animal (dongwu) / King (wang) = King of 100 animals. ---------- Picture 2 & 3 (box bottom and side) are the same (three characters).
5 (wu) / Lion (shizi) = 5 lion (the last two characters used together mean lion). ---------- That's exactly what it says. Hope this helps.
Remember the Romanization/English translation of the Japanese is King of the Beasts Golion/Beast King Golion so the Chinese makes sense for a bootleg (in translation at least) because they are not using golion on the name explicitly (for obvious reasons).
I do find it interesting that they don't mention Lionbot until the sticker was slapped on it, but that was probably for export rather than selling overseas. So in the Asian market, I bet more people identified with the "King of 100 Animals", hence their wording on the main box lid.

Can you get me a clear close up of the cello issue you are talking about?

It peeled up clean no tears or pulled paper I just don't know what to use to glue it back down so it looks as good as the rest of the cello.

Oh wow the cello is over the top like a laminate? Awesome. All the other toys I own, the cello is underneath.
I think you either need to use spray adhesive (3m)
or
contact adhesive - this last one is a paper sold at art supply stores for mounting light paper projects. You basically peel off a layer, lay down your section of paper etc that you want to mount and rub to pick up the adhesive then lift and place your piece on your permanent mount area.
Those should leave no residue.
Other than that you could use Elmer's white glue or RC glue - those both dry clear - but you would have to spread them very thin and put a heavy book or something on top to make it dry flush like the rest of the cello.

No kidding, I'm driving myself nuts buying at least three a month that are in some way different than the others I have. I've got another one coming that I've never seen before too. I'm gonna go broke if the variants don't end but in my sick addictive personality I'm already gearing up for the variants of Daltanias and Godsigma and I've recently started to dig on the Mazinger.

Tony, there are so many voltron variants. If you just stick with the basic die cast one that originated with the popy golion, you have the following:
Popy w chrome elbows sharp teeth Popy no chrome sharp teeth Godaikin early transition w chrome elbows sharp teeth Godaikin no chrome sharp teeth Godaikin no chrome round teeth (late transition)
Matchbox Taiwan round teeth Matchbox Japan round teeth
Trendmasters remold (slight color difference) silver weapons Trendmasters remold (slight color difference) gold weapons
Then you have the original vintage Lionbot (which is still produced today at slightly different quality) Then a whole host of rarer lionbots that range from slight figure differences like belt variations, or box/language variations, like cpr has shown.
I did it for a while. Had a nice vintage Lionbot and two of the standard golion (second one I listed) and several Taiwan matchbox versions and a gold weapon Trendmaster (this last one is now with xtrlowz75 as of last year and my Lionbot is gone also). I'm just trying to figure out if I am going to keep only my godaikin or one matchbox as well.
It is a huge job keeping up. And that doesn't even account for some of the bootleg Korean stuff either!

Be careful. The daltanias ones can be very expensive just because they don't come up often. We are talking more than mint daltanias money sometimes. We found an interesting Taiwan godsigma that we've never seen before. Let me know if you'd like some info. Which maz variants are you looking for? You can PM me or do a new thread if you don't want to derail this one too much.

I remember that silver boxes set that wa sold at hat RJ Auction, was it a black version?? That went for a lot of monney if I remember correctly. That one is on my list down the road. The most expensive on are usually on the back burner for me. Im looking at getting a Daltanius but and the Godshinx because those are the only other variants I've seen. Godsigma would be the original Popy version as well as the Popy Version that says Godsigma on the box and of course the godbot which is readilly available. As for the Maz my interest in him has really peaked recently and I watched my first episode last night which was the first episode of the show and now I'm hooked. I don't know much about the toys so I need to learn more but that DX is a definate here very soon for me. I saw it a few months ago someone was talking about it I think Baron. It kinda reminded me of the T28 which is also on the list. Iguess for Vintage Mazinger I'd be looking for the equivilant of the original 10 Godaikins ie Golion, Voltes, Combattra etc.

Cool find! and thanks for sharing the pics. The stylized Chinese print is really cool. That crazy vivid print is what I love about a lot of the Korean DX knockoffs. My favorite GoLion box art may just be the King Lion, Korean set, with a huge art pic of GoLion, with a big old castle in the backgroud. Toy is derpy, and cheep, but the box is great! haha
Had to slow myself down a long time ago, as the variants are so goofy, and not needed, BUT, are so fun to track and find!
Mr.Ginrai zipped me a link on that Go(N)aikin GodSigma box a few weeks back, that he spotted, and I guess someone got it eventually. Someone could've gotten scammed on that one based on not looking at the outer box carefully, but it would've been a fun variant to have of GodSigma. Was basically a junk GodBot inside.
Don't forget on the Go LIon sets, there's both the Popy and Godaikin box sets that have the in-between stock elbows parts of half chrome/half gray, on the red & green lions.
