I agree. Very cool sketches. It,s sad that out of all the cool concepts, somebody decided to go with the Maz H concept. As in Handles, Hulk, or Hips.....pick your choice.
I can see now sorta why he did this. He may wanted to set himself apart. But being different and still good is very very difficult proposition...looks to me. He has some really cool ideas but somebody talked him out of it. I love the wing and the other Maz with more flowing body panels like from a sports car design. I hope he reconsiders or at least incorporate some of his rejected concepts. And please I hope he drops the side hip idea..

I like the sketches, they remind me of the various Mazinger robot concepts from the "Dai Mazinger" novel. I was checking out this toy version's IronCutter "Mighty Knuckle" gimmick... wow, it looks Siiiiiiiiick! zozo-mag

not bad, in the sketches he looks much better so i guess we are better off to wait for more pictures of this guy in different poses. I agree with magengar the iron cutter gimmick looks pretty cool, is even gonna have articulated fingers.

Dai Mazinger novel? Never heard of that one! }D I was actually referring to this... All this time I thought this was a novel, or some proposed concept for an anime of an artist's rendition of Mazinger-Z. This artwork had also included several concepts of the Mazinger robot design. It was to become an OVA remake of the Mazinger-Z anime, in 1986. But, the project had gotten cancelled because Toei owns the rights to the original anime. mazinger.wikia.com/wiki/Dai-MazingerAs for the Mazinger-Z design concepts, you can browse this page down to see the sketches... mazinsaurus.wordpress.com/...as you can see from those sketches, some of those concepts may have influenced the design and sculpt of this 3zero Mazinger figure rendition. zozo-mag

Great find on those sketches, bro! Definitely, someone seem to have "borrowed" from these 2006 sketches for a particular "shin" anime! }D

That pic make it look so nice. But the photo conveniently covered the chicken hips and most of the handles.
If he just would have swallowed his pride and tone down the handle theme it would be so much better. I know it,s the theme on this piece but The handles are just so arbitrary. Why are they there? To protect his shoulders?
Franky chogokin has ton of handle/steps, but it makes sense and they,re there for a reason. Votoms and Dougram also have them. But it fits the overall design well. And it's used sparingly with lot of thoughts in overall design. Not this, it,s like tumors, all over the body without reason or appeal. The chicken hips and short legs just add to the injury.

I do see the pot when I look at his so round pelvis.

I think I can handle all the 'handles', but not the hip joints design.

The top and the bottom of this figure seem to have come from two totally different characters! Not warming up to it as is, and if the price is anything above $150, it's a definite PASS for me.

Hips and ball hooks/lugs look horrible. Again this is my opinion for anyone that is excited about this release...we all have our own tastes and opinons.
Most likely this will be $200 - $250 and will SELL OUT to all the 3-zero 3A fans.
