This may be my fist 3a / 3zero piece. I really like the stream punk home made feel, just not sure about the hips. The wide hips make it look chunky, but as mentioned dose make sence as far design. I hope they make some original robots or mecha with a Sicilian feel. I'm always attracted to 3a/3zeros look/feel.

He does look like he was built from the era of Back to the future 3 where Doc made the first contraption to get an ice. Doc would have made that mazinger and marty mcfly would be the pilot. hehehe . that would be cool.

Their facebook says that the leaked photo has a bad angle and that the design is still pending approval.
Also the bot is going to be 16" tall... now that is big! Sadly a bit too much for my display space.

I hope that this design does NOT get approved and they go back to the drawing board on a few key elements such as the hips and the handle bar shoulders. Again this is just my opinion on this robot and not trying to offend anyone here.
Great news that the bot is going to be 16" tall!

I'm with ancestral on this. I'm just not feeling this design. The hips being so wide really irk me the most. It's a nice start, but I feel design work needs to be continued on it. Plus they need to remove those loops below his crotch. I live in the south and "Truck Nuts" can be seen on every other trailer hitch. Whenever I see those loops all I can think of is Maz hanging some "Truck Nuts".

Yeah, the handles and legs need to be re-thinked... A Lot! If they are redone (A LOT), I may even consider getting it... maybe. Articulated hands are my Kryptonite! }D

Nice. Hopefully that would keep this item within a reasonable price range, depending on the size of this figure and the density of the materials in the figure's parts. I also think stuff such as weathering effect details do seem to capture quite well on those two soft-type materials. zozo-mag Nah. This will be a $300+ figure.

This could be a really awesome figure if they make the right changes adjustments to the figure.

We oughtta start creating a Robot-Japan Dictionary for these phrases and words, in a language understood only by RJers! We'd be the Only online forum that speaks its own language... LOL! Guess I took for granted that everyone knew what I was talking about since they are so common here in the south For those not in the know, "Truck Nuts" are chromed scrotoms w/ testicles (nut sacks, ball sacks, etc...) that hang off the trailer hitch of pickup trucks. They even have their own lock and key in case someone were to try to steal your nuts

That would be them! I just shake my head an roll my eyes whenever I see them. Now just imagine a set of those hanging from those loops or hitches below this Mazinger's crotch.

To quote Duke Nukem... "Balls of Steel." Actually in this case it would be "Balls of Chogokin."

The first time I saw these on a truck I thought "yeah ok, whatever" but once you see it for about the 50th time it turns into "I don't want to be in that club".

I can't even count how many I see on a daily basis. An ex co-worker had some on his pickup and lost the key so he couldn't easily remove them because the attachment on his was made of aircraft cable.

why do i get the feeling that this proposed Mazinger isnt going to push through.... Definitely have the feeling the design will get/has gotten rejected and will need to be retooled.

Definitely have the feeling the design will get/has gotten rejected and will need to be retooled. If it comes to that, keep an eye on that one there... Because if a retooled version pops up, someone inside that production circle will try to sell That one under a fake name to get it listed on eBay beneath the radar, and jack up the price on it as a "rare" never-made specimen. Anyone who is seriously Hardcore about it would be willing to shell out hundreds of dollars, or at least 1.5 grand, for that one specimen there. That's just my opinionated prediction for that figure. zozo-mag

I'm all for the simplicity of the original design, but these alternate timeline style interpretations can be alot of fun. I really am digging the look; has a Pacific Rim/Elysium feel to the style. Reminds me of what Mcfarlane did with Spawn in different eras. Also, this looks like something 4 Horsemen would come up with as an interpretative concept, like they did with MOTU back in the early 00's.
Would like to see this become a reality....
