The way his targetmaster transforms is clever.
I have no particular love for Space Winnebagomus, unfortunately. If this had been Hot Rod and sized more like the MP cars I'd have been 100% all over it. The fact that he transforms from the entire thing into the robot without having a trailer leftover is nice, though. Very clever. It's almost tempting enough to get me to trade in my Fansproject Protector ... almost.

I'm thinking of getting it just for the fact that MP-9 is really kinda crummy and delicate.

I'm don't understand this release. Why make it when there is an official one available already? Has MP-09 price gone up considerably due to lack of availability? Takara re-issues releases every now and then anyways.

I think they are making their version because there is a general feeling is dissapointment with the the original release with all the QC issues. I have to say that I am interested in seeing more of this figure.

I'm don't understand this release. Why make it when there is an official one available already? Has MP-09 price gone up considerably due to lack of availability? Takara re-issues releases every now and then anyways. I had this conversation with a buddy this past weekend. He was saying the same, in not understanding why 3P are making something that already available officially. I can understand this release and made the point that it's like the MP Dinobot or just 3P Dinobot wars. It don't matter if there are official or other companies making it. There is competition all over. Reason being, 3P companies believe they are making better and superior versions. In the past, I used to think that these 3P is going to drive each other out of business by compreting with each other. There is just one factor that I didn't think of. I believe the reason and the one population I didn't count on is the Collector base in China. Whereas I don't think certain 3P items are popular, etc... Perhaps those are popular in China. As for this new MP scale Rodimus Prime, it's significantly different from the official, mainly in that it isn't a partsformer and incorporates the entire trailer. That's important to some collector but the overall sculpt an looks of this, I don't care for. I don't have a direct source but I remember reading somewhere that FansToys did not or is really considering going back to doing their version of MP Blaster and Soundwave. Perhaps, if they see that there are folks that would rather buy 3P over the officials, they would revisit their MP Soundwave. I used Soundwave because I said to my buddy that it don't matter that there is an official MP Soundwave now. He said that he would not buy another MP Scale or Style Soundwave if another company/3P made it. I argueed he would. I made the point that if Hasbro and Takara releases yet another improved version a couple years down the road, you would buy it. Just like how we all bought the newer MP-10 Optimus to replace our old Mp-01 Optimus. Just like how we are all pretty much gonna replace our MP-08 Grimlock from the 3P companies.

I've been waffling so much on Apollyon. I really want to just focus on MP car type bots, but having Soundwave and Quakewave, it's tempting to pick up a Megatron to go with them.
Then again, it's also very tempting to just sell Quakewave for $$$$ and enjoy the liberated shelf space. Video reviews that show how fiddly (or not) this guy are will be a make or break moment.

I pre ordered and so far everything looks pretty good. It's looks like a figure that is worth the $150. I am hoping the reviewers that gets the test shots or the initial batch mention the quality of the build and plastic. I am good as long as it hold up better than Takara MP-05.

I have one ordered just because I don't see Takara making a V2 Megatron anytime soon. But I believe 100% if they did it would be Superior to Apollyon. BTW every time I read that name it makes me think of Aquarion lol.

They are talking more production time so hopefully the quality is there.

Yeah he looks a little squat but it is Megatron so he should look like a bruiser.
