$239 is a bit high considering you can get a used complete/boxed vintage 1 for less than $200 on eBay. Still thats kinda cool to bring an old school one back and just make slight improvements while staying close to the original. I might get one for the heck of it.

I'd rather buy a used Godzilla jumbo as a beater than pay THAT much for this Toynami thing. So, we're lookin at roughly $250-270 with shipping... for a mere 19-inch tall 'jumbo'? ...I Don't Think So! The Shogun Warriors Godzilla jumbo is taller, and still has that classic charm. Personally, to me it smells like Toynami is trying to kiss ass by using the jumbo category as bait to lure collectors to buy their upcoming Voltron "jumbo". How on earth did Toynami manage to get a license for Godzilla! I dunno. So then what, Toynami whips out this Godzilla "jumbo" now... and then ten or twenty years later they'll spit out a "re-issue" from the same mold and design for that high price. Hopefully this new Godzilla item will be enough to satisfy the most hardcore Godzilla fans and Jumbo Machinder fans alike. zozo-mag

Well, it is different than the original sculptwise. More detailed. But, I do have the original in perfect condition, so no need to get this one. }D

I like it, seems like most of the "complaints" from the original have been met- better spines, better tail. I do have a nice condition original, if I have the extra cash laying around (unlikely ) I'll pick one up. Definitely will not be displayed with the tail attached!

A new Godzilla after the very good Jakks Pacific 24 inch version, hum, really need this one? And for this expansive price, because for France the shipping will cost again a lot! I think we need new JM, not reissue like this! T

I've been going back and forth with this one. I think I have to agree with Sabbath, more JM's, maybe something new, I'd love to see a Boss Borot. Or if they want to stick with Godzilla, why not a Mecha, or a Mothra? It looks good, but $239 after the $60 Jakks Pacific is a bit much. Especially after the, in my opinion, epic fail they had with the Golion.

Price is my only issue, but given the Voltron's prices it was expected. I like the style way more than Jakks one,not a fan of over modern JMs

I just don't think releasing jumbos at prices over $200 is profitable for any toy maker. There are some collectors who will buy that but most jumbo collectors I know still would rather pay more money for vintage jumbos than to buy the new stuff. Until a company can find a way to make and sell these for $50-75, not sure if any of these items will be a success in the US market. I wonder if bandai will take another shot at releasing jumbos again in japan.

Hmm, maybe that is the reason why Super7 stopped making jumbos.

I could see a bigger toy company like Mattel hoping to tap into 70's nostalgia come out with remakes of the Shogun Warriors they released back in the 70's exclusively on their mattycollector site not unlike what they have been doing with Mego, Super Powers or their He-man toys. They probably could get away with charging over $100 for these. A lot of the jumbos we covet are based on properties most Americans have never heard of much or if they did, care about. It would probably be difficult to get the licensing from Bandai as well.
Looks like Bandai is choosing not to release the big Megazord they had at the convention a couple of years back.
Oh well. At least I will be kept busy trying to obtain all the vintage jumbos first. Don't think it will get to a point where I have a complete collection and waiting for someone to release something new.

Is that confirmed cancelled or just still vaporware?

Well about Super 7, I bought the Stormtrooper a couple of years, I live in France, and believe it or not, with his expansive price, I paid AN EXPANSIVE PRICE with customs charges, maybe something like + 130 US $ !!!!
So, if it's the same way for buying Boba Fett in FRance, we don't need this one! It's really too much. And maybe now, with the Jakks Pacific new line (31 inch) some have a very cheap price (especially in the USA) Darth Vador, Stormtrooper are really beautiful for a cool price. I have no problem when I bought the Jakks Pacific from the USA, no more customs charges. Super 7 don't help me for save the customs charges, I don't buy again something from them! If the Jakks Pacific line was 24 inch, it will be a real tsunami in the JM world with these cheap prices!!! Of course no Grendizer, Daimos, T28... in this line, but LARGE SIZE for cheap price!
So again a new classic Godzilla, hum, When I saw the Jakks Pacific Zilla, it's a massive toy, very big, I can imagine a child with this one!! And as I said a cool price for this big size!! And also a new design.
If they need to make money, why not a JM of R2D2 or C3PO??? I'm not a fan of Stars Wars, but it could be a good idea!!

OK, OK, Now I can tell you this, all the JM are cool, but for sure the best robot in the world, is absolutely BOSS BOROT, with his high technology and nice team!!!! isn'it !!!! SO WE NEED A JM OF BOSS !!!

As much as I dig these biga$$ Jakks figures at the end of the day they are just gigantic hard plastic action figures. They're not jumbos. I'm sure rotocasting Polyethelyne has to be way more cost prohibitive than producing the Jakks figures. I don't think there are many factories left that will do it.

And I hope it's just the angle of BBTS' pictures but dayum that Godzilla looks like he has an extreme overbite. Despite this I do like his look. The price not so much...

You are so right about the overbite. He looks like that dog that has all the memes on the internet.

I may get the Godzilla, or else may cry and complain about 2 or 3 years later when they are sold out and selling for $400 afterwards.
Was hoping for a price tag around $75 to $100 as getting spoiled by the Jakk prices.
