So, with the two Devastator entries into the market from the 3rd party: ToyWorld and Generation Toy...Let me see if I can get this right...The prices are similar...but, the ToyWorld version is huge and features light-up functions. Generation Toy's is not as big but it features diecast and rubber treads? Correct me if I'm wrong here, please.

Yup from what we can tell the GT ones will be smaller but contain some amount of diecast, while TW will be bigger have no metal but Devastators eyes will be LED.

As far as the first two are concerned, I don't think they contain any metal. And I've taken Scrap almost completely apart.

Cool thanks for the info, I thought they had metal but I guess I was wrong.

I'm actually not sure if GT ever said their Devy had metal in it or if it was speculation -- would have to go back and look for any official statements rather than hearsay. Of course, there are still 4 figs left in the bunch, so who knows.

Yeah your right, it's just from online listings like BBTS and Chimungmung have metal listed as part of the figures. I wonder where they got that from?

I'm a relative noob when it comes to transformers but....Isn't there a metal version of this robot (Constructicon)? I'd like to get a complete set but am wondering about the primary differences between the metal and plastic versions as far as quality is concerned.

As far as I know, none of the 3rd party Devastars (includes the ones in this thread) feature metal. So, that would mean the MakeToys Giant, TFC Toys Hercules, ToyWorld and Generation Toy versions are all plastastic. If you want one, pick the one that looks best for you.

I was under the impression that there was an old school version by Takara that was metal but I could be mistaken.

That's also plastastic.

That's also plastastic. I believe it's considered a G1. Made in the early to mid 80's? Came in a boxed set.

Holy cow, is it big. MakeToys should give up their name "Giant" and give it to ToyWorld.
