NY likes to make up for the low price with higher shipping costs I've noticed. Anyhow, got one at Amiami.

I was lucky enough this time to get a pre-order in at HLJ. It still took about 4 mins for the order to get processed. I had a friend trying at the same time and he came up with nothing last night. It really is madness and the fact that the pre-order lasted so long at HLJ worries me about their ability to fulfill all the orders that they took last night. I just hope everyone gets a chance at getting one. I have been on the other side aswell and in the end have always been able to get what I wanted. Strangely I find that CDJ always seems to have stock when something is released. That's who I would watch when it is released.

FWIW, my HLJ order did NOT go through until nearly 40 minutes after the preorders started. So, for all I know, I may have not gotten any. I was unable to log in but everytime I re-loaded the HLJ page (main), my two items (the Siegfried and Astray Blue Frame) were in my shopping cart. So, despite the site showing sold out, the items were still in my cart. I finally got PAST the login page (40 minutes) and the items were still available in my cart when logged in and finally processed my preorder. This is weird...cuz in other sites, even if the item is in your cart as you are finalizing the order, if others beat you to it, you are SoL. At HLJ, maybe the items are taken from inventory the minute they are added to a cart versus other sites (i.e. AmiAmi, Hobby Search, CD Japan) where the inventory is not reduced until the ENTIRE PO is complete.

from my experience, HLJ has always able to fulfill the initial pre order, may it be a glitch, https secure link , etc. etc. I'm sure HLJ looks at the actual initial preoder numbers from their system too, from there they can also do some of their negotiation magic.
The not enough supply issues normally happen if they somehow reopen a sold out preorder and it stays open for a long time without any technical issues in play. The most recent was the YF-29 Durandal Valkyrie Alto Saotome Custom.
Their preorder widow this time did last way longer than other sites, but since almost everyone was having checking out issues, and no one can buy it after 12:03am, it pretty much the same as AMIAMI's place holder before the preorder. So they had like 3 minutes of rush orders going though their system and then nothing for a while.
I think you guys will have a good chance of getting the pre order items.

head up to all regarding my friend HLJ order being cancel due to bug on the ordering system for the VF-31J. Hello- This is Mark Kutsugi at HobbyLink Japan. Thank you for your order for Bandai's BANN06298 DX Chogokin VF-31J Siegfried (Hayate Immelmann). The stock status of that item was regretfully Order Stop at the time you placed your order. A bug in our system allowed it to stay in your shopping cart when it was no longer available for order. The bug is being corrected now. As the limit of orders for the amount of stock we expect to receive was already reached, this item will be cancelled from your order within 48 hours. You have not been charged for this item. BANN06298 DX Chogokin VF-31J Siegfried (Hayate Immelmann) is expected to be released on or about 12/31. If supplies are sufficient, we will accept more orders for it at that time. In the meantime, if more stock becomes available, more orders may be accepted. We do not currently have a system to alert you if that happens, but you're welcome to monitor its page in our online catalog: hlj.com/product/BANN06298Please accept our apologies for this situation. We appreciate your understanding, and hope to serve you in the future. Best Regards, Mark Kutsugi HobbyLink Japan

...or, if history has been any indication, there will be inventory at one of the usual vendors closer to release. CD Japan usually has come through in the past for me.
