Thanks I got an order in at 1999.co.jp but switched to to bbts cause the price is roughly the same after shipping and I’m more confident with bBts. Thanks again for providing the link.

guys before you order lets make sure of something
this is from HLJ
"Please note that these are trading items and are individually sealed and randomly packed in boxes of 5 by the manufacturer before shipment to HobbyLink Japan. As a result, we are unable to honor requests for individual or specific items, nor can we promise you which one(s) you will receive in a box. Please order only if you are willing to accept any combination of the possible types"
from my understating this mean the boxes are random and you might end up with two of the same lion ?? which mean you will never form the head lol, no seriously whats going on ?

I'm pretty sure every box would contain all five lions. Those language are probably recycled from other similar products. Super minipla are always boxed as one complete set.

Just look up some of the unboxing and video reviews of the older super mini plas. Unless BBTS rips up the master boxes and shuffle them up and mail out 5 random ones, there’s nothing to worry about. Each master box will contain 5 individual small boxes and will be a full set.

It’s a model kit so it will most certainly be a lot less sturdy that the Matty blazing sword (which by the way I have but still sealed in box after all these years).
I only have the zambot3 from the minipla line but I enjoyed the build and was impressed by the articulation for a model kit. Also it looks pretty nice even without paint. However I wouldn’t expect it to look like the promo pics as those are painted and painted well.
I expect it to be articulated. I would also expect it to have bits and pieces falling especially given all the parts forming involved. Finally I would expect it to be a little on he flimsy side unless you use glue during the build.

No need to use glue or paint to complete it." the got me by that line honestly kindly correct me if im wrong and more opinion will be appreciated guys

Zambot does suffer from bits and pieces falling off during posing. But my GaoGaiGar and Goldymarg SMP figures are solid enough where I consider them action figures. While all of them would benefit from paint, none of them NEED it. Faces and some other details are pre-painted. I hope that Voltron is more like the GaoGaiGar kits and less like Zambot. If it's like GGG it should be solid and fun to handle.

From this model kit line, I have the Megazord and DragonZord and in hindsight they really aren’t worth what I paid. First of all, in terms of the feel of the figure, they are both really solid and not floppy. They hold up nice and nothing falls off when being handled. There’s enough articulation, and they way they allowed the Triceratops and the Sabretooth tiger to disassemble and reassemble onto ankle ball joint provides the Megazord with stability. This way, MegaZord can stand correctly with a flat footed “A” stance. There’s good color separations too and the faces are pre painted. It looks nice straight out of the box with the stickers applied. Without the stickers though, not so nice. Most stickers stay on, some curved surfaces, they don’t stay in that well. In the case of the DragonZord, the stickers make a big difference as it brings out the details to the figure. But the Cons of this line, The line is seriously overpriced only when I compare it to what I could’ve gotten with a Gundam kit. MegaZord cost me $55 and DragonZord @45. So $100 in total for the two. For comparison, $70 could buy a MG Version Ka Double Z Gundam. Or 3 really good RG Gundam Kits. With both MG and RG types kits being way more complex. Even though there are multi color runners, there’s not enough color separation by parts which leads to the need of stickers. I still feel, for the price, which is at Master Grade level, should be getting more. Perhaps better candy packed into each box. I still think for anyone interested in these SMP kits to look at unboxing videos and reviews on YouTube to see what you are getting into. First these are marketed as candy toy and not model kits. It’s been said that there are Some rule or something that prevents Bandai to produce these characters as model kits so they have to add a piece of candy to the kit and sell it this way. Candy toys, I guess fits in with Trading Figures and Gashapons. Which is why HLJ has that warning about the randomness. But with the SMP line, there’s no worry because each individual small box is different. Like with the Daizyujin release, each Zord had a different looking box so the consumer knows exactly which one they are buying. The USA Megazord version comes in one big box, no candy and all five kits. Japanese market are to open up the bigger box and sell individual small boxes and technically not the full box. But I guess consumers there can ask for full box to get the complete set. Bottom line, even though my opinion is that it’s a bit pricey, I like Voltron And I really want to build this. I enjoy gunpla and building stuff. I like the proportion and the look of the assemble Voltron. Here’s two pictures that I took of the Megazord. Out of box build with stickers applied.

Between HLJ and Mandarake I feel like I've gotten a very good price/worth ratio with mine. GGG, Goldy and Zambot were all between $30 and $35. Voltron is $40 at HLJ. I just grabbed a Live Robo from Mandy for $22. But yeah, the value isn't there as much if you pay US shop prices.

I am mixed on this line the same way I'm mixed on Hi-Metal. For Hi-Metal I bought Dougram and just ordered a soltic and will probably buy every item from Dougram they make.
For super minipla I got the full ideon box set with gun from mandarake, ordered the giant gorg/manon type from HLJ and the brown guardian from an HK seller.
I just couldn't take the plunge on the xabungle stuff from either line. My brother got gaogaigar and megazord/dragonzord/titanus. I passed on both versions of zambot. I will look at the golion more but honestly I am disappointed in it and will probably pass. They could have still kept it as a parts former and hid more things/made more stuff removable. The shoulder posts and foot heels being left in are a poor move even on a model kit.
It will definitely be a pick and choose line for me and definitely price dependent as I can dump the same money on vintage and get more value. Ideon and the gorg stuff however, there's really no product at all ever available so those were automatic buys.

I just grabbed a Live Robo from Mandy for $22. But yeah, the value isn't there as much if you pay US shop prices. Price wise unless you live in Japan, importing the Voltron isn’t that significantly different. Your example, $40 for Voltron at HLJ, HLJ listing is 4410 yen. Conversion rate fluctuate, so maybe the day you ordered it is $40, today the USD conversion is at $42. By the time of release, could be lower than $40 could be higher than 42$. Shipping cost is anywhere between 880-1290yen lowest at 880. @5290 yen current day exchange rate would be $48-49. Unless you already have HLJ private warehouse and adding this item doesn’t hit your shipping fees, for the rest us that we not so lucky enough to grab one from HLJ before the pre sold out the cost is not much more versus the US stores. I preorder one from co1999.com @4900 yen. With shipping it would have been close to 6000 yen. Which is about $54-55. I switched over to bbts only cause I already prepaid shipping with a prior item ordered. So adding Voltron didn’t increase shipping much and it’s was only $5 more than getting it overseas. Point is take a look at this priced at 4860 yen. slist.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=TOY-GDM-3444&page=top%2Fsearch%2Flist%3Fs_keywords%3DZZ+Gundam%24pagemax%3D15%24getcnt%3D0%24pagecnt%3D1 This Master Grade kit is 450 yen more than the HLJ pre order price of SMP Voltron. That MG kit is light years more complex and advance versus any MiniPla. But none of that matters because ZZ Gundam is not Voltron.

I agree that gundam kits has more bang for the buck, but they're likely produced at much higher volumes than these SR candy toys. Afterall, gundam is Bandai's #1 money maker. I guess I'm not surprised at the higher price point compared to gundam. I'm just happy that a parts forming voltron is finally produced!
Ya I missed out on HLJ too, got one from BBTS for the ability to cancel if I'm able to get one from HLJ or other sources.

thanks for all the inputs guys i decided to go with it since its not that expensive, i placed an order with AE but i didn't pay for it, so i can get different opinions about the line in general and specifically about this releases, because HLJ say something in the product description box while AE say something different lol for my luck i checked HLJ and the preorder was open again, so i manage to score one from them

It pays to keep checking HLJ. As for the Gundam comparisons, I never really factor Gundam into any equation because it’s the flagship Bandai kit and they can shovel bucketfuls of them out the door cheaper than anything else.

I'm happy for a smaller Daizyujin because I'm running out of space. But at this price , after watching some unbox/review video ,I feel it too expensive. Most of Bandai Sentai Candy toys are perfect transforamation. (Since Gaoranger, atleast) Even something complex like Magiking or ShinkinOh. And Their Action mostly better than DX line. For Daizyujin, Why head of Tyranosaurus need to be remove ? Why the mouth of Dragon caesar need part forming ? I don't expected multi-color part like gundam. But at this price it should be better.
