I just recently finished acquiring the gx18 through gx20 Getters. I just don't see how bandai could improve on these. At least from a design perspective. Super accurate, TONS of diecast, I'm really impressed with these early SOCs. Curious to see what the D.C. Line would add to these. We all know they are coming at some point.

I friggin love my GX-19 and GX-20. Gx-20 Poseidon took some work to get there, though. Including painting the bare plastic pauldrons (Using Tamiya paints ... let me check my notes... 2 counts of x6 gloss orange + 1 count of x8 gloss yellow + 1.75 counts of x2 gloss white makes a perfect match for the yellow-orange paint already on the figure) and modifying the waist joint so that the torso can't tilt forward anymore (sacrifices some poseability I never used but makes it nice and solid; I can even shake it like a ragdoll and the waist joint won't flex or disconnect, but it can still rotate and be taken apart). GX-18 I thought was good, but not great. I sold mine ages back. Seemed a bit cheap and strangely built compared to the other two. I remember the forearms and the neck area bothering me a bit, along with the general proportions of the figure. Also the hands and the tomahawks were disappointing. Just wasn't nearly as satisfying as the other two to look at and play with. I'm hoping for a Dynamic Classics Getter Dragon to complete the trio with the kind of quality the bot deserves. |

They could improve getter dragon and Gaiking by using the new design from GX-70 especially with the thinner anime accurate limbs.

Yeah for Gaiking, Bandai you need to fix the balance issue (top heavy), knees collapsing( universally known design defect), and loose ankles...
If it doesnt "transform". Bandai should fix all the engineering issues.
Getter Dragon, maybe just the proportion? And make the spining round saw blades on his forarms more robust?

Also I love how they make legs fold in on themselves now. That is needed for those early SOC. |
