Same sh*t happened to me and I did not even touch it! Sorry to hear that. This is actually a quite common issue for mazinkaiser. More photos from chinese forum. Please note each photo is from different user. [/quote] Holy hell. I came here because my fire blaster plates have bad paint qc, and I wanted to see if that is common. Looks like I'm lucky afterall

Unless Bandai use Lego quality ABS, Bandai should ALWAYS have them removable.
I mean so many mazingers plates are removable with super robust pegs, and now it decides to regress with 80's tiny round peg? Knowing, by design they stick out like that begging to be nudged and accidently bumped....of course its going to break off at the peg what the hell was Bandai thinking? Yet another Bandai brainfart....SMH.

Well I'm officially terrified of this thing. I thought having crap qc was bad enough. Call me when there's an option for replacements.
Side note, I was able yo pull both plates off undamaged with care, they're staying in the manual bag for storage

You know, some 3D printed parts printed in clear acrylic with some translucent red paint so you have the option of using solid or translucent plates on your figure. Similar to the ones on the Sentinel Kaiser I'd be interested in that, and a replacement set for the originals

In my case, because of the hell of postal customs in my country, I have only to buy online from e-stores that declare lower value receipts! Unfortunately, they were sold out with GX-75 (I was late to pre-order). So, I got mine for $240 + $24 int'l shipping from eBay Hong Kong. I contacted the seller and he's trying to find a solution with the retailer for that damn issue. I cannot ship the entire figure back to Hong Kong for a replacement or a refund, it'll cost me. YES, as some of you said, it SHOULD have been die-cast not trash fragile plastic pin into some f**king rubbery ball joint! Last night, I superglued the pin back to the plate but when I tried to insert it back into the chest, the damn middle piece didn't go through the chest probably. I tried a hairdryer on the superglued pin to adjust but it snapped again! HELL NO! Guys, let us all contact Bandai through www.bandai-asia.com and request replacement parts for those f**king chest plates, hopefully, they make 'em in die-cast! Also, what is the web address of that Chinese forum? I will ask 'em to do the same, although, I guess they already did. Angry!

I'm going to be honest, I don't see Bandai doing anything, at least for anyone outside japan. The most they'll probably do is silently release a fixed version when they rerelease him, or a fixed GX-75R. I'm a Kaiser fanboy so I'll buy it again if they do, but boy this sucks. Here's hoping someone 3P makes replacement parts.

Sorry to hear about that bros. my piece is ok so far. It's really hard to not touch the breast plates when posing him. I think the best thing to do is contact the seller to fix the problem, if that doesn't work , file a dispute thru paypal or ur credit card company. I don't think Bandai will help. Just look at sh monsterarts king ghidora with all those snapped wing joints. They just re released it again with improved wing joints

I think a silent improved rerelease is more likely though, like what they did with SRC GaoGaiGar, Myth cloth EX Aiolos, and Dohko, and a few others. Bandai just doesn't care. I remember when myth cloth ex Saga surplice came out and everyone was getting two left or right thighs, Bandai just said the problem doesn't exist.

It is unfair to the sellers . But it's also unfair to us collectors who pay a lot of money for these items. Hopefully they can come up with a remedy for the buyer. Then the seller can get some credit from their vendors. It just sucks to get a broken figure. Especially if it's due to poor design

Those who got it i guess you can take the plates out if you are very careful with it? If you like the figure enough and you are brave enough, i would take the plates out.
And just maybe NinjaHandz a well known mod artist here, can whip something sturdy and awesome for the bros whos interested. Ninjahandz does some crazy good mod for sale. Lucky to have him here.
Also IF you can, you might even try to just return it....especially if you didnt open it yet. I mean, unless you really really like the figure, keeping a figure with a well known defect like this is just a heart break over and over.

Yea, that's when we unbox the figure and the plate pins aren't already broken! But, they come already broken without we touch them, without we even look at 'em in a way to hurt their feelings. Sorry to hear about that bros. my piece is ok so far. It's really hard to not touch the breast plates when posing him. The seller didn't do anything wrong. The seller on eBay is a very caring and decent person. He told me I can ship back the item to him but then he will return it to the retailer, then the retailer will send it back to Bandai where we are not sure if Bandai will send a replacemnt or not! This will take 2 months + I already paid for EMS shipping from Hong Kong to Egypt (and, paid the postal customs). So, I can't pay for another 2 international shipping (Egypt to Hong Kong, then, Hong Kong to Egypt again). No! I will try to find a way to send a message to Bandai. Only "luck" can serve me now.

Bandai has to know by now... They need to fess up and put up an official statement soon.
They need to hurry and make sturdier replacement parts and ship them to retailers and have them ship them to all the customers who bought this figure. No excuses and no stonewalling!!
Come on Bandai, i know you can moneygrab by selling some accessories seperate, but now, show me that you have honor... Anyone can mistake, but integrety is shown by fixing that mistake. Where is your honor and integrety? Yes im questioning it.
