Be careful buying this "New" or used from other collectors. Some dishonest people out there will sell you a broken one and then claim it wasn't broken when they shipped it to you.

Bandai has to know by now... They need to fess up and put up an official statement soon. They need to hurry and make sturdier replacement parts and ship them to retailers and have them ship them to all the customers who bought this figure. No excuses and no stonewalling!! Come on Bandai, i know you can moneygrab by selling some accessories seperate, but now, show me that you have honor... Anyone can mistake, but integrety is shown by fixing that mistake. Where is your honor and integrety? Yes im questioning it. Unfortunately Bandai has never done this in the past. What they did for situation like this was re-issuing the same product with the fix. And sentinel is following bandai's route recently.

Yeah, i knew that when they pulled "Apple" move when they stuck that controversial one page b&w "instruction" regarding the very well known defect on DX Mazinger elbow.... Its a bad PR.
But this really should be considered as a opportunity for Bandai to show its true color. We are not product testers.
if this trend continues, nobody should buy their product till its well reviewed priored to release. Bless those early adapters, but even they are not product testers. Bandai needs to refund everyone for selling defective products.

If you are in Japan, Bandai will fix it for free, plus free shipping. Bandai should extend this service worldwide, even I need to pay the shipping because at least I'm not stuck with the defective product.

I sent them a message through their Facebook, requesting replacement pieces, and I also posted my broken GX-75 chest plate photo on their wall with a mention www.facebook.com/bandai.asia

Zrl, That's great to hear.
I do understand if bought outside the "regular" channel youll be SOL just do to the license policy and regulation red tapes in various form... But Bandai can extend the the goodwill to extensive foreign market by acutally redesigning the defective parts and distributing it to retail and foot the bill for the retail the cheapest shipping...slowest air envelope is what , around $3 usd? Otherwise, they can include the fixed part in upcoming gx-76. I think thats acceptable to most.
Bandai SOC team should say something about this to clear the air though. Im sure the outrage is growing on FB by now. The sooner they speak about it, the better....id be so pissed.

That's my situation as I was playing with him and i moved the plates the left one snap, I was very upset so I put him back.next day I open and superglue the damn plate and used silicone to hold in place. Looks fine but lost movement this should be metal You know what? Basically, those chest plates shouldn't move on the first place! For Mazinkaiser as a super robot, they aren't meant to move! It's silly and it makes him seem like a "toy". I don't like the feature on SRC as well. So, in a way... don't be upset... you have a real-life Kaiser model now.

It would probably be pricy, but still better than chucking out $200+ for a new one with scalper latefees included. I'm sending my kaiser to my friend to repair the awful paint qc and possibly replace the pins with metal.

Duke - I hope Bandai will listen and hopefully they can do something about this issue. Getting a figure dead on arrival sucks! I have been seeing a lot of QC issues for this guy, paint, broken chest piece...etc.. I hope Bandai will revisit and review there protocols for QC and the standard for this figures needs to be near perfect..especially for what you are paying..

Honestly this is the first time I've gotten an soc with noticeable paint bubbles, chipping, and streaks in the paint oob. I'm incredibly disappointed because I've been waiting for a soc kaiser since gx-07 came out.

I don't know maybe they'll launch a reissue with the issues fixed. I had a couple of SOCs for the past year and also got an almost ten year old Daimos and got no issues, for a newly release one to have a lot of issues, that is sad. I really do hope that Bandai can look into this...this is quite dissaopointing..

Are most Mazinkaiser SoC units have the same issue?
|
|
|
Post by locidm on Sept 7, 2017 22:59:53 GMT -5
I'm sure it's only a small fraction that had the issue. Stuff like this tend to get blown out of proportion because those without issues won't report. Of that fraction that had issue some were user error. So at the end of the day only a few would have issue upon opening.
Can Bandai do better? Sure. Is this something to be so weary of to stay away from the release? Probably not.

So I'm looking at the pictures for the Mazinkaiser out of the box. How come it has hollow eyes? Are the eyes separate part?

Yes it comes with two faces one eyes on and the other eyes off, so you can simulate what it looks like before and after pilder on.

It's not hard. You just gotta be careful just like with any other high end toys. I swapped it once and left it on. No issues for me. Instruction does tell you to take the head out during swapping.
