*OP updated with new stores Is anime-export and good site to order from? Do they charge up front for preorders or wait till the item ships like bbts? I've never had a problem with them, although I've heard the occasional customer service horror story when something went wrong. The worst being items paid for, but never shipped. Those prices are hard to resist though. I'm comfortable using them for items under $100, but for larger purchases, I'd rather go with a retailer I trust a bit more. A suggestion maybe is to sort those website by country. US, Japan China. It can help decide where to order. Not a bad idea! Lemme tackle that when I have a spare moment. |

Hey guys I have a question. Does anyone have experience with Mandarake? I followed the link and found some pretty interesting things there for good prices like a valk and that new Blue Frame Gundam with all the weapons. The prices seemed good but the condition of the boxes all said damaged or some other disclaimer even if the picture looked spotless and it was new. That threw me off so i wanted to here for you guys. Bad experiences, good or other.

Go for it with Mandarake. Even for items listed as with damage box they are typically in close to pristine condition. I've purchase many items from them in the past and never had problems.

When I went to HK last year, I havent started or dont know much about chogokins, heaps of figure shops in Mongkok area - richmond center, sino center, ins point etc While youre there, check out fa yuen street...street just full of shoes! |

wow and you still didn't report this to Paypal ?
i would say that you used the warehouse feature more than 3 months, if you do that they move your items to their other warehouse which is located away from them
ones it took them about 7 days to ship my items, but man two months are alot
last time i shopped with them was in April and it was smooth, check you spam email, sometimes their emails go there for some reason,
i hope they reply back to you ASAP

Big in Japan
www.biginjap.com/I just noticed Big in Japan wasn't on the list and it seems no one mentioned it. I haven't ordered anything from them lately, but I was pleased with the few orders I got a few years ago. Unless they drastically changed since then, I would recommend them. It's a smaller store that offers Bandai Tamashii Web exclusives. They also offer forwarding and proxy services for items from Japanese sellers who won't ship internationally. (I haven't used it, though. So I can't vouch for it personally.) One possible caveat is that they won't do proxy on Yahoo! Auctions. You'd have to use the forwarding service for that. A couple of folks have mentioned pinning this thread. Not my call obviously, but if it does happen, I'm happy to spend some extra time "curating" the list for the benefit of the members here.

I have reported this to paypal today and am waiting for the response Stay away from Anime-Export on your regular purchases, and only use them if you really have to. Quite a few stories of bad/no response customer service. They used to be good years ago, but went down hill messing up orders of mine, took my buddy's money on Fewture Getters but never shipped, and have issues with a number of folks here as well. Avoid them if you don't want to risk headaches, 'fun' waiting for emails, and Paypal refunds. |
