Could not agree more. The vintage pieces I have attained over the last few years are by far my favorites. Would love to get Sun Vulcan but he does not seem to pop up very often. I had won an auction (Can't remember the name of the auction site, not eBay) for all three Voltron II figures brand new. But the auction proprietor was a bit off his rocker and was taking a very long time to ship. When I asked politely when he was going to ship he flipped out on me and sent me like a four page e-mail going off on me. Said if I didn't want the pieces he didn't care. So I passed. Looking back wished I would have just struggled through and purchased them. But I agree also that I look at all my Godaikins as art. I have been collecting Machine Robos as well recently and view them in the same way. Each one has such amazing artwork on the outside of the box and the packaging is amazing for such small pieces. My vintage gokins are probably my favorites. I've got Laserion, Gardian, Sun Vulcan, 2 GoLions, God Sigma, Goggle V, Dynaman w/Daijupiter, POPY GodMarz, The Abega, and two Voltrons I,II & III. There's just something magical about them. I get them in new condition, form the robot, and display them on my mantle. Contemporary gokins are awesome because you can handle them without messing anything up. But I view my GoiDaiKins as works of art.

NICE! Be careful with the leg clips. Mine broke on the 1st attempt at forming the Bull Vulcan.

I am a weirdo, these will never be assembled. I would love to take them out and play with them but I cringe at the thought of damaging anything. Just enjoy looking at them in the box. After I got Sun Vulcan I broke out all of them and stoked I am getting close to having all the ones I want. NICE! Be careful with the leg clips. Mine broke on the 1st attempt at forming the Bull Vulcan.

Godaikins are so beautiful. They were among my first memories of transforming robots even before the mainstream robot blitz of 1984.

Same here. I would see them all the time at my local Mervyn's and another store in our local mall called Comix and Comix. Would just drool over them but they were too expensive at the time for us. Godaikins are so beautiful. They were among my first memories of transforming robots even before the mainstream robot blitz of 1984.

Then, my 8 year old son and I unbox them (usually leaving the clamshells stapled). It's always an event. We form the robot one time. Then, we display them like statues on the mantle. When I handle them after the unboxing, it's with a microfiber dusting cloth. I like to keep them glistening!

Thank you for not making me feel like one! Your tradition sounds super fun. I am sure your son is going to have a great appreciation for these toys which are really pieces of art. I have a 9 year old daughter and I always tease her that I am going to sell them and she pleads with me that I CAN'T sell them! I am a weirdo, these will never be assembled. Sharing these wonderful "toys" with the children we love makes this hobby great. My son definitely appreciates these robots. In fact, he's got a nice collection of his own. He has a: Dynaman DyJupiter Gardian Matchbox Voltron (from my childhood) Vehicle Voltron Blazing Sword Voltron Matty Voltron (now displayed because $$$) Legacy Megazord Legacy Dragonzord Legacy Titanus SOC Daltanious 3 cases of G1 Transformers from my youth I bought the vintage gokins used so he can play with them. At age 8 he's an astute lifelong collector. He helps me out on social media, too. Last year we started a G+ Community. It adds a whole new element to our hobby. Your son has a better collection than me! That is awesome that you have taught him to appreciate these toys. My daughter has the Bandai Chogokin Hello Kitty figures, My Melody, Mickey Robo, and a few G1 transformers that we find here and there at yard sales. We also make trips to all the local toy shows which is always a good time. Checked out your community page as well, very cool! My 2 year old daughter has the Hello Kitties, and she loves them. I even preordered the Hello Kitty Chogokin from the hospital while my wife was in labor! That's when she knew I had a problem. I just wanted to commemorate things. How is Mickey Robo? I thought about getting it for my daughter, but some reviewers claim that it's fragile. And, thanks for checking out my Community!

Replaced my rough Bio Dragon last week with a brand new one! Purchased this from the same seller I got my Abega from. All his items are brand new as he sold them in the 80s in the Sacramento area here in California. Anyone who is interested in Bio Dragon let me know. I will be selling the old one. It is not complete and has a few issues here and there (missing one hinge on the flight deck) but displays awesome and would be a amazing starter piece for someone into collecting either Bio Man, Godaikin, or Sentai. Just message me if interested.

Went to local collectible show and the only thing that interested me was this. Had lunch with my collector friend and contemplating purchase. What the heck why not get it when I’m going to find complete mint Voltes V in person again.

Um definitely buy it! I was dumb enough to pass up a brand new mint mint mint Voltes last year for $900. I had never spent that on one toy was the only reason I held off. Hope you got it! I was the same like do I really want to spend this money on this. I could buy a new frig(already got that), storage for the house(just got that) other stuff for the house(check). Ok I got green light. Of course my wife wasn’t with me when I bought it. 😜😀 Do you have extra God Mars or Google V for sale?
